Never heard of him before. So many are called "celebrities" when they aren't. Unless you watch particular TV shows, you'll likely never have heard of them.”

I thought it was an Entertainment show ... maybe some people have a more diverse watching pattern that others

You thought which was an entertainment show, Strictly or his?

I watch Strictly for the dance element.
Anything else that's remotely like a "reality show," or a soap, I give a miss. Beyond that I consider my viewing choices quite diverse, though these days, though therefore, sadly restricted.

Loved Rinder! More than anyone else he captured the joy of dancing. He looked like he was having a ball and that enjoyment was totally infectious. Good on him

I loved him!!! Best thing on the show last night, he will be getting my vote every week when the voting starts.

He was wonderful. I hope he continues to entertain us for many weeks to come.

Have watched it so many times - fabulous fun, I guess Oksana is a really good teacher because despite the "gurning" as some called it, he was energetic, enthusiastic, and not bad at all foot and hip wise!

And the reaction of the audience and the guys up in the balcony was fabuous!!

Must admit I was amazed. I've only watched him for a matter of minutes in the courtroom so I really wasn't expecting him to be athletic, extravert and likable. I hope he wins!
Oksana is Ola Jordan's successor.

Last night I was mega fan, after tonight, I'm a mega fan. Robert to go as far as his stiff hips and groin take him. Love him and Oksana.

He is a prime example of why it doesn't bother me when I don't know all the celebs.

Had never heard of him but when he started doing his thing, me and my fella were laughing our heads off - very entertaining.

I thought he was hilarious and surprisingly good. He definitely gave it some welly on Friday night! I can't wait for next week's show.

Apparently it's the most watched SCD clip on YouTube ever! Not just me who can't stop watching then

Happily, you two seem to be in the minority, most of us loved his showmanship, and larger than life personality.

I've watched it so many times I've lost count. It was one of my favourite dances ever on strictly.

I thought he was great but then this is precisely why I watch it..for entertainment. I did ballet when younger and if I want to watch perfect dance I go to the ballet not some reality show on the BBC. I think some people get a bit precious about it but at the end of the day its just another celebrity vehicle.

Just because it is watched, doesn't mean it is best.

That's on Facebook.

On YouTube it doesn't even come close, yet.

Of course, but surely this is what is being implied.

Strictly Red predicted it would beat the Jive.

I'm pleased for him and Oksanna, it was a shock water cooler moment so it's not surprising. He was my fave this week..

I hope he continues to surprise us.

It isn't a ballroom dancing show. They have professionals for those such as Come Dancing..

It's a family entertainment show where dancers with little or no ballroom dancing talent get together and compete against each other having had a little training from professionals. Part of the enjoyment is quite sadistic watching the no-hopers make total fools of themselves. The general public decide who will stay or go which never happens in professional competitions.

Once he tones down the facial expressions he could be quite good. I definitely was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't sure what to expect.
