My favourites from tonight:

Laura's Greek goddess outfit
Naga's green and lemon chiffon ballgown
Lesley's classy dress

Fail - Claudia's two-dresses-in one job - sorry Claud, you're great, but it was horrible!

Thought Natalie looked fab . Then again she would look good in a bin liner

Redknapp looked awfull but I'm assuming it's a rip off dress kinda thing.

I thought Naga had the best dress. Absolutely gorgeous.

Lauras tassles were too long and distracted me when they kept getting tangled round her neck.

Louise needs to get over her whatever it is that's bothering her about the costumes. Modest is ok, frumpy is not going to win her votes.

I thought Naga's dress was awful - not suited to ballroom at all, and the leg split was ridiculously high. Good colour choice though.

I didn't think any of them were particularly good - Tameka and Daisy got the best of a bad bunch I think!

My immediate reaction last night was "blimey, the costume department is hating everyone this year".

On closer inspection, Naga's outfit was nice, but the rest is still very much up for debate. Claudia (contestant) is possibly going to suffer from being teeny but quite solid rather than teeny and waif-like.

Laura, Naga and Daisy's were my favourite dresses.

Joanne and Natalie also looked amazing though the skirt of Natalie's dress wasn't very practical for the Jive!

Claudia Fragapani's dress did nothing for her.

Daisy's dress is quite different. Looks quite.. commercial? Rather than competition ballgown. I love it, personally.

Kevin and Louise appeared to have raided the kids' dress up box.

I thought the costumes where waaaay better than the usual early stage of the competition as sometimes they can lack sparkle in the first few weeks and look a bit basic. They looked a bit more like real competitive costumes (Ore aside) than usual too.

My fave was probably oksana's. I really like that style of fringe dress for cha cha.

Wish they'd stop putting the boys in normal trousers with a belt though. And I wish the girls hair would be put up without the loose "flappy" bits like Laura's. I find it really distracting! It's a very pretty look but not for dancing.

although I did not like Louise and Kevins outfits think they will 'fit' their music which has a 1940's style vibe

Naga seems to be favouring the high halter style neckline with beaded necklace on her dresses so far.

She wears the same style when not on the show as well.

I liked Daisy's dress, and I also really liked Katya's outfit. Claudia W's dress was so much more flattering than that monstrosity she had for the first show!

IMO they were all a bit average! Back in the day when Chrissanne made the dresses they were superb but over the years they were done first by DSI and in the last 3 years by the Beebs costume department - and not for the better.
When they have had some 'accidents' with the men's trousers its because they haven't even put them in dancers trousers, which stretch, but have just bought High Street stuff!

Yes I think we're in for another mediocre year. That Sue lady from a few years ago was brilliant and created truly lovely dresses. Who can forget Zoe's black tango dress ? and Kelly Brook and Lisa Snowdon had some beauties, as did Flavia. The current lady who comes on Zoe's programme every week irritates me with her silly laugh and her fairly awful dresses in even worse fabrics and colours.

It's about her confidence at the moment. She's a little shy of showing too much. Doesn't want her sons embarrassed either! Modesty is an underrated quality. Maybe the Strickly ballroom isn't the place for it though !

Natalie's outfit was great but she pulled up the skirt early on and from then on she was dancing in her pants. Don't know if that was a malfunction or deliberate.

Naga should wear that colour always - really suits her.j

I loved Anastacia's dress. It was sexy without being too revealing. The fringe was below the knee but didn't look frumpy. Len's mountains comment was horrible

Loved the skirt of Daisy's dress, didn't like the top. Too much like a nightie.

Thought wardrobe did a really good job with Tameka.

Louise was clearly going for the Debbie Reynolds look and it worked.
