BT in £60m YouView takeover talks with BBC

Bt is better anyway why not switch at least BT have HD channels and you can record more than one Internet channel at the same time.
For £5 a month I'm happy without HD channels and I get a lot of Sky channels as part of the package, and I can add and remove stuff as I please. Compare that to BT's £13 a month for the top package.

I just use BT youview as a Freeview box but will my box still get any updates when they come next year. ...

Ah I see.. mine's doesn't reboot but goes into eco mode at night and it takes a long time to boot up again.

Even in Eco mode the box searches for (presumably) firmwares in the night, I've got a box in the bedroom and every night after it has been asleep a couple of hours you can hear the HDD spin up for about 20 minutes or so.

Ye sorry for wrong wording. It went off about 5pm last night then come back on like it rebooted? Not sure what it did ha. Hope it's not a regular thing.

My boxes have done it only a handful of times since BT launched their first YouView Boxes so its not a regular thing mate (or it shouldn't be put it that way).
