Please cut and paste gems that you enjoyed that others might have missed.

Posts from the Live Show thread are particularly welcome as that thread moves so quickly that it's easy to miss a whole page.
If you want to respond to a quoted post, it's best to follow the link back to the original thread.

On Ore's bizarrely misshapen trousers
(Vicki Giggles =Vicki Gill, head of wardrobe)
I was too distracted bemoaning the awful trousers. I'm guessing Vicky Giggles bought out half the men's department in BHS's closing down sale

Aj has AJ tattooed on his arm. Is he in danger of forgetting his name?
I think he knows what it is, he just needs reminding how to spell it.

Aw bless

it's in case he gets lost in the department store. "BING BONG: would the owner of a seven year old marked as AJ please come to the customer service desk where he is crying for his mummy"

From the ITT chat thread this response from Monkseal had me in stitches

Did you see Zoe's cryptic message about her and Norm's split.

When talking to Anastasia see mentioned all the bling on her fingers and said "i'm so jealous"
If you look very closely, she also blinked out "RockafellerSkank4Lyfe" in Morse Code.

Collins1965 draws on political parody to hilarious effect in the thread The conspiracy theories start already!

The producers were sitting on a grassy knoll when they matched up the couples.

Someone is well organised for this evening.
I'm buying a bag of Malteasers for next week!
Dinner v early and then copious amounts of wine and CHEESE STRAWS!! (highly recommend the ones from Waitrose with poppy seeds on.) You can also use them to point at stuff and to tap out the beat of a good song.
Later we have Maltesers which are good for both eating and throwing at TV. 10 points if you hit Craig right between the eyes. They don't mix well with wine but by then we don't care.

If I had legs like Lesley at that age I'd be very pleased. And I'm a man.

The reason why there was such a long delay during recording while the producers checked The Rules
They had to translate them from the original Latin they were written in around 10 BC (roughly about the time of Anton's birth) and so it all took some time.

I've never been in post of the day but I have to add Deltablues's comment!

That's the only time that "Anton" and "Latin" in the same sentence makes sense.

Oooh, look, it's National Poetry Day

Backstage sympathy
Anonymity
Tabloid enmity
Clickbait fiscally
Gullibility

Mimi Dic:

I don't think who does what on Strictly is remotely comparable to Brexit.
It's actually not very important.

The £ did sink to its lowest level on 4 October following O'Dexit.

The Has Bruno Quit thread delivered a delicious Judges parody by washboard that puts some spurious arguments into perspective

Well, you came out and had a go at hyperbole and you were trying to do the polemicist over there... but [huge sigh] you went all wonky on the metaphors and similes [scowls at audience]...what?!?! I'm telling it like it is!... [huffs] [scowls] [grimaces]. Not your best effort.

Yah, it was a brave effort. It needed a bit of work on the punctuation - and Len is right, the metaphors and similes didn't quite come off. The smilie was nice - but a bit out of place, yeah? Like Len says, it just wasn't your best effort - but you look gorgeous, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Oooooh, my darling!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! It was like watching the shower scene in Psycho!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!! [thumps desk] No really!! [stands up and gestures] The dagger was out, and the soundtrack was 'eek, eeek, eeek, eeek eeek'!!!!!! [puts on pouty serious face] No blood-letting before the watershed! [wags finger]. But I loved it!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahaha! [leans back, falls off chair] Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Your agenda was showing, it was all very clunky, very samey - we need to see something different daaahling - and the theme has really been done to the death. The hyperbole needs a lot of work, and polemicism doesn't really fit. A bit of a post disaaaaster, daaaahling. But! I thought your use of smilies was OK, and I could see you trying to work the story.

[Disclaimer - none of the SCD judges were harmed - or spoken to, or took part in - the making of this post]

In the Movie Week – 5 Thoughts thread, DeltaBlues takes an interesting perspective in reflecting on Len's cream aversion

5. I don't know why Len was being such a Pwecious Pwincess about a little bit of cream landing on the desk...after 14 years of sitting next to Bruno lusting after any young fit bloke, you'd think he'd be used to it.
