Questions for those who know Joanne's dancing from competition day.

I am genuinely asking this and it's not trying to knock Joanne.

I am staggered by her dancing ability at times and there is no question why she won world champion(s), however did she choreograph her own routines?

Did she always do sweet rather than sophisticated?

I read she was playing Marilyn Munroe in theatre, does she do sexy?

I would appreciate honest answers as she is somewhat of an enigma to me.

I read somewhere that she didn't choreograph her own routines but I honestly can't remember where or if its true or not!

can't say I am overly impressed by what I saw last night - the tiny bits of tango that were in that routine were danced well by Ore but waaaaaaaaaaay to much faffing about

I think you may be in the wrong part of the forum Coppertop.

Since Joanne danced with a very experienced and previously successful partner Paolo Bosco, I'd be very surprised if she had a major input into the choreography, but of course she may have contributed ideas. I might be wrong though.

Some of their dances are a bit quirky but that's the nature of showdances. See this tango: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqFRQXxPTzc, but she can certainly do elegant Hollywood style (see this Ginger Rogers inspired piece www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er7tPzt0__k) although it is still a bit sweet/girlish. There are other female ballroom dancers I prefer and find more stylish (go and look at Mirko and Edita who competed directly against them and always beat them in the straight ballroom comps) but there is no denying she is a very accomplished dancer.

I didn't like her tango with Ore last night, not even the tango bits although he is a promising dancer.

Joanne does do choreography - she teaches widely and one or her couples represented england recently in the Europeans.

I thought the routine was fine last night to that awful music the tango that was there imo was good and ore danced it well with good legs and hold but the theme and music took away from it - in their training video last week his cha cha footwork looks great already - think you will see it change as she gets better music

Re Marilyn she widely got ther best reviews for the show and she played the film star Marilyn as opposed to Norma Jean the other actress in the show played, all critics said she got the essence of Marilyn down to a T

I do agree, bendymixer, that the music was awful. I also think next time Joanne will get straight into the dancing (at least the next ballroom routine) having had Len's comments, and so the long intro this time it isn't something to get too fixated on.

in the DWTS USA show the same song played different tempo and intro before decent beat was 18 seconds the intro last night before it got going was 34 seconds - poor arranging

Thank you bendy for people like me who have not got a clue your posts are always so enlightening.

As a complete non dancer I have to say that sounded like really unfortunate music for a tango to me.

Oh I really liked that too.

Didn't Vincent and Flavia use the same music for one of their AT demos?

Yes, that was a great tango!

The music is a very well known tango (not one of my favourites though) and so wouldn't be surprised in Vincent and Flavia used it.

That was saved by the mood and the tango air. The music and choreography were both awful
