Am I the only one to think she was way overmarked, she made quite a few mistakes - oddly I agreed with Bruno's score!!

Why bother to open another thread, why not just post in the main one.

The main thread is for all contestants and I had a comment about one!

I must say that is a bit mean and bordering on not nice.

Yes I like her and Brendan and enjoyed but some scores, I think a bit high. I do think Bruno's score was the most appropriate.

The marking is pathetic tonight.

I thought maybe 8 was high looking back tbh apart from the wobble she had a lot of cha cha in there and danced a lot on her own

She made a lot of clear mistakes and they were obvious. I started the Anastacia Appreciation thread too and I'm surprised at how overmarked she was! I'd have given a 5

No, too many threads makes it a chore. It's not a 'mean' comment.

She did pretty well. Obviously nervous but there was a lot of good stuff there. I don't really care about the individual scores, more the order and I thought she was in about the right place on the leaderboard.

I like her but she was terribly overmarked. She was one of the poorest dancers tonight, yet Craig gave her an 8.

So what you are saying is that you should post on a thread with over 1900 posts and there will not be any discussing any individual contestants, later or tomorrow? OP had every right to post as wanted it to be an individual discussion. My opinion and not falling out.

Craig has lost the plot this year, his marking tonight was all over the place (and generally in my opinion completely wrong)

There is no way Anastacia was better than Daisy (who was criminally undermarked by Craig especially) - yes, the content was good and the splits were impressive, but it was a bit wobbly the whole way through and there were a couple of pretty obvious mistakes. 6 from Bruno was a little harsh considering the number of dancers worse than her who'd already been given that mark, but 7s would have been fair.

Not often I say this, but Len has been the most on the money in terms of marks tonight.

For someone who is so confident onstage I thought Anastasia looked almost uncomfortable which surprised me.

Agreed, that was a total shambles. It was not much better then Melvin to be honest (also see the double standards with the other gymnastic dance....the one without the wobbles).

This strange marking tonight took me really out of the show, as usually I know what scores to expect but here you couldn't guess if your life depended on it.

Another one here who agrees, she was overmarked, relative to the other dancers.

The marking has been a bit strange tonight and Craig is giving unusually high scores for the first week. I liked Anastasia and Brendan's dance but yes I think over marked but week one only, so marking should improve edited to say marking

She was nearly on her butt on a number of occasions and made numerous errors and Craig gave her 8 I think the real Craig has been abducted by aliens and been replaced by some replicant

maybe the judges have been given extra paddles (11 to 15) going by the marking over the first two shows.

When I heard she was on I wondered if her fame would be an issue. Over the last few years they have been scraping the bottom of barrel for dancers and mostly getting them from BBC tv shows, this year they get Anastacia?! Will they over mark because its her? I was pleasantly surprised when Bruno was so down to earth and honest and marked accordingly, but the others marked way over considering her obvious stumble.

But then Danny Mac who put in a spotless performance that left me breathless in admiration got 8's and a 7 so I guess, as per last year, the scoring is going straight out the window with these guys.

So why jump on the op of this thread but ignore the other two which have been opened?

Because "The main thread" covers ALL the dancers and flies along much too fast to deal with one thing that stands out .
There is no harm in the occasional thread on something outstanding , and the reaction of the judges to Anastacia's performance was outstanding . Outstandingly gushing and full of praise for what was simply not a good performance . Why all that praise and ignoring the huge mistakes ? Is it some sort of "Be kind to our American cousins because they are more delicate and we might lose their 'custom' if we don't bullshine them " ? That was just bizarre judging and marking, and must surely be disheartening for the dancers who danced better than her yet got marked much lower .
Was she sexy as hell ? Yup.
Did she dance the routine well ? Nope .
Did she make mistakes ? Hell yeah .
It was at best a half decent routine re content , but Anastacia danced it badly and made a number of bad mistakes to boot . She was so focused on being sexually alluring that she lost the plot. Literally got lost in her hand wafting and body stroking . At one point Brendan was actually manipulating her hips to try to get get back on track . Weird .

Danny Mac was fantastic tonight and I do think Peter Andre got over marked last year but it did sort itself out. Early days

I thought Anastacia did the best cha cha technically. Straight legs almost all the way through and decent cha cha content.

Every single celeb made mistakes. Some more obvious than others. She only made one obvious mistake and no more others than anyone else.

What she did do tho was keep the character feel throught, more so than everyone else. And that's important. She also kept going and go right back into her routine which is so hard to do (I've performed on stage and went wrong and just froze).

I like Brendan and always have. I hope Anastacia does well with him, love her enthusiasm . I think a lot of potential this year. Marking a bit strange but only week one
