I am sure the BBC is economising but what's with Will Young's trousers?

all the better to see how he minces, dear

there was more mince in that tango than in an argentinian beef herd

He just makes me cringe I'm afraid.

His launch show outfit was a suit with short trousers too. I think it's his quirky dress sense ! Karen and Jo Clifton need to stop using props to pad out their routines, and just get straight to the dance. Aliona and Jay's Tango showed how great it can be, with no messing about.

I suspect he just likes them like that. Similar to how Louise is asking them to dress her in a certain way. Not my thing but great dance - looking forward to seeing him next week!

I was in Florence earlier this year and saw loads of young Italian men in similar...and looking equally ridiculous!

Years ago, we used to call them jack-ups!

Not sure what era Will's dance was, but wasn't the cropped trouser length common for men dancing the tango years ago? (as well as recently too!) Will's not afraid to dress the part and his bright red socks helped show off his moves!

In my day Teddy boys wore them

Really good point and agree with Len, Joanne Clifton and Ore Auduba's Tango took ages to get going. When it did I enjoyed.

Appalling . I couldn't concentrate on his dance, I was thinking how could anyone think they flatter and enhance . Along with being too short they were too tight and made his bum stick out .

There used to be a comedian Max Wall wear those kind of trousers for comical effect .

I found his red socks a bit distracting.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was another ploy by one of the Clifton trio to distract from poor choreography and dodgy technique.

It looked ridiculously odd. Just like his tango.

I just watched it a few times more, and it's grown on me - good Tango face and I loved the outfit on him, especially the long black bow. It had a slight Spanish feel to it. Will is the spit of my youngest son it's uncanny LOL !!

Even in his training video the quirkiness was evident.

I think he's lovely looking

His kecks are ankle grazers, that's all - currently in fashion.

He needs to put some jam on his shoes and invite his trousers down for tea as we used to say in school.

I was more worried by the blue hotpants and braces combo he wore at training,

Problem for me is no matter how much I try I cant warm to Will. I never have and I'm not sure why. He's just one of those celebrities I have an irrational dislike for.

Same here. They might have a flattered a woman more than a man.

I thought you'd have to do some Clifton bashing in a topic that has nothing to do with them. Just go away you troll. If you don't like SCD then don't watch it.

I was more surprised with his overmarking.

Loved their Tango. Sure there were plenty of flaws but for me it had the passion and slight madness that made it very good.

Name of thread ---Will Young's Tango
Will Young 's Tango is choreographed by Karen Clifton
Discussion on the choreography therefore includes the choreographer.
Therefore discussion and opinions include someone called Clifton.

This and Daisy's waltz are the two dances I watched twice. I thought it had a rather good intensity and grittiness.

Why is everyone obsessed with trousers?! Last year it was pockets
