Will looks like Pinocchio in that training video

I liked it, trousers, dance, the idea, all. There was a story, but it did not get in the way of a dance, a few seconds at the beginning, a few seconds at the end.

I loved it. Great choreography, good use of props.

We would always say "his trousers have had a row with his ankles".
Great tango though.

I did too. It had real attack and Will has fabulous shoulders and musicality. Yes, his trousers were nuts, but his fashion sense has always been a bit out there. He has his own style.

I'd never buy his music - but I like him as a person. He is very true to himself, rather brave and very honest about his flaws. Rather have him than some himbo soap star.

However, he will get slated in SCD no matter how well he dances, because he is quirky. GBP do prefer bland and pretty, which is a shame, but hey, everyone has the right to their own opinion.

I dunno. The GBP have voted for him over bland and pretty* (with added sympathy stutter) before.

*Sorry, completely forgotten his name.

Looking at some his training outfits it looks like he's got an errr...interesting fashion sense.

He does rather seem to be channelling Peter-from-Heidi as a fashion guru

I like Will, always have done and i think there continues to be a decent residual amount of affection for him from his Pop Idol days. I love his quirkiness and his individuality. As for his trousers i found them a lot more watchable than Ores tbh

I can't believe i'm saying a pair of trousers are watchable

He has an interesting fashion style but IMO he has no fashion sense. There are times when it's and Very occasionally it's

Anyway, the dance, better than expected.

Will definitely has his own style.

His tango was fabulous, as Bruno said the performance was excellent. And they were true to the mood and the movement of the tango.

He sure has potential!

It's no big deal but I think Karen borrowed the beginning from this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UgI0jJakskw

Nope, I would mark Will's trousers lower than Ore's trousers. Totally distracted me.

I've watched it again (because I got so distracted the first time) and there are a lot of things I like but sometimes he is a bit too light and gliding for a tango. I found his lock step and chasse a bit skippy. But generally very promising. Nice attitude/performance. Complicated routine.

For a week one dance I thought Will showed promise, but as a tango Karen's routine not to my taste - I like a ballroom tango done sharp and with no AT drama or feel to it and Karen's routine was somewhere in between

My biggest bug bear with the judges over ballroom tango is when the non ballroom qualified ones (even Len sometimes) go on about the mood of tango - when it really only applies to AT and not the Ballroom one

I love Will Young. He was the only one of this year's contestants who I was looking forward to seeing dance (though of course now I have seen them all I dance I like more of them).

I liked his tango but the trousers were bad. Same with Ore. A dance costume should enhance the mood of the dance, or at the very least not detract from it.

I'm sure he'll forgive you for that. We cannot love everyone, can we?

'Fashion sense' is totally individual, as is style. It's not for us to dictate, but I loved the dance too.

I personally cannot stand short ankle skimming trousers on men - whatever they are doing in them - but I don't let it get to me. The whole cropped trouser, bare ankle with brogue look is plain silly, but - bless them - the fashion victims do it to belong.

I wasn't overly keen on the choreography. It was a bit too gliding and light for me. I also prefer it sharper. I quite like some AT interspersed with ballroom tango but I prefer the sections clearly delineated (usually where the music signals a change in mood).

But Will does look very promising, and seems a nice guy too.

I don't think it's the length of Will's trousers that was the real problem.

First of all, they seemed to start way above his waist. A tribute to Simon Cowell, perhaps? But it did nothing for Will's figure (which I suspect is not quite as svelte as it once was … not being weight-ist here, I might add - just an observation!).

And then there was the fit. They looked all lumpy round his bum, and the shortness of the leg only enhanced that.

I don't think Ore had the same issue with leg length, but they were really badly fitted, too, and possibly more noticeable because they were paler.

All in all, the kind of fashion shocker I don't expect from SCD's usually very impressive wardrobe department. Maybe they had work experience in? But why did the producers not step in and veto both those fashion disasters?

The year Anya had approx fifteen dance-interrupting wardrobe disasters, I was truly fed up with wardrobe. But given they don't seem to present Health and Safety issues, I'm 'indifferent' through to 'quite like' about Will's and Ore's trousers.

For me, the fewer sequins the better; men's clothes seemed far less sparkly last year, and that's continuing into this. The advent of the pocket is a plus from my welly-wearing and morose perspective. It's more real world. (Notwithstanding Gio's abbreviated homage to the laurel )

I enjoyed it but I didnt think his trousers looked the part

they made his bum look huge,it looked like he had a couple of bits of string with red ends for legs sticking out of a weeble

This sums it up for me. I really enjoyed it, and 'felt' the mood of the dance. Top work from Will and Karen.

I bet if Will was partnered with Natalie Lowe that performance would have been given glowing reviews on here!
