1) The marking was very, very, very crazay
2) The lowest score was 21, in other years that would be a decent score.
3) Poor Laura & Robert, they sank down so much after this week.
4) Anastacia was a bit overmarked, I like her but her dancing wasn't great.
5) I didn't see Greg getting a higher score than Claudia!

1) Another great show - I'm so glad Strictly is back!
2) The scoring was MAD. Regardless if I'm a fan or not, Anastacia, Daisy, Will overmarked by far.
3) My favourite is definitely Tameka!
4) I was expecting a lot more from Laura, Melvin, Claudia and Anastacia.
5) Bring on the big show next week!

1. For the first year I can remember in ages, I like all of the celebs. Even Ed Balls.
2. Any show that has Aljaz dancing ballroom twice is a good show in my book.
3. The same persn who stole Len's 1-5 paddles finally got their hands on Craig's too.
4. AJ. Bless. Decent of his parents to let him stay up past his bedtime.
5. Mel, Sue and Mary might not have left the Beeb, but anyone who can make a half-decent costume clearly has.

Marking really off the wall...please do not spoil the show judges with such poor judging. You are at risk of turning it into a comedy show.

1/ My favourite opening to a Strictly show ever. Loved seeing everyone on the dance floor and to one of my favourite songs. Just beautiful.

2/ The scoring was all over the place. Craig over-marked a number of them IMO.

3/ The standard is very good this year. Everyone is at least reasonable and even Ed wasn't as bad as I thought he'd be.

4/ Big thumbs up to the new pros. Katya and Gorka especially. Loved their choreography tonight.

5/ I can't believe how much I'm agreeing with Len so far this series Early days though

1- Fantastic Standard of dancing!
2- Has Craig had chocolate before the show? He was very generous!
3- Ed Balls wasn't that bad!
4- Louise, Daisy and Danny really stood out for me
5- I LOVE STRICTLY!

1) Louise very good - but then again, I expect they do 100 kick ball changes in detention rather than 100 whiteboard lines at Italia Conti
2) Daisy more elegant than expected. Wasn't Abbey Clancy week 1 Waltz level - but solid nonetheless!
3) Melvin useless! Thought he taught dance once? Get your money back, kids!
4) As others said, scoring bonkers. But then don't we have these outrages every year?
5) Danny strongest of the night - but even then, he threw his arms away.

One for luck:

6) Claudia, please give the AJ jokes a rest! No position to humiliate the newcomer when you look like a carrot in a pulp fiction wig!

1. Enjoyed Louise and Kevs jive but didn't think its was good as leaderboard suggests

2. Annoyed we never got to hear Craigs critique of Danny and Otis ChaCha. Did Tess gave a producer yelling "move in move on" in her ear or is she that useless?!?!?

3. Loved paso From Tameka and Gorka - fun but good. Hope she has a good run.

4. Lovely waltz from Daisy. Aljaz could lose two teeth, gain 3 stone and wear an eyepatch and I would still fancy him... Such a great dancer.

5. Great first weekend guys. Some surprises. Roll on next week !!!

1. Danny Mac - what!! I left my couch to get closer to the TV. Hello?
2. AJ needs to showcase Claudia more.
3. Janette and Joanne need to work on choreography.
4. I love Anastasia's attitude.
5. No truly bad dancing tonight, lots of "ringers" this year.....

1. Danny Mac
2. I want to put a poster of Claudia and AJ on my bedroom wall (I'm 47).
3. Fair play to you Mr Balls - you did OK. Just wish I didn't look at you and see Les Dawson.
4. Whoever sang Let's Dance murdered it.
5. I think Melvin is O'Doomed. (Sorry )

Oh yes, nearly forgot - a sneaky 6 - that opening was a -may- zing - well done to all who took part.

Firstly thanks to Nicplay for your PM and no worries at all.

1) Holy smoke at Danny - I was open mouthed at watching him so impressive! I thought a 10 was going to come out - undermarked and should have been top
2) Daisy impressed me and it must have been tough with her recent bereavement but she didn't deserve a 9 or to be at the top.
3) Claudia, Ed is clearly not enjoying or loving it and perhaps regretting it - he looks completely lost and is outshone by the majority of the others.
4) A very high standard in general and solid effort by all - nothing overtly terrible or cringe inducing. Melvin or Ed first boot.
5) Agreed with Len about Claudia making sure she doesn't over do the gymnastics - the singer ruined that song to shreds!

1. Wtf is going on with the scoring. It's like they overmarked Louise and had nowhere to go after but then decided they couldn't start giving out 10s in week 1 so instead we got random low scores all over the shop. Has Craig ever been the highest marker for a couple in week 1 before?

2. Easily the highest standard of week 1 ever! Even the lowest scored were decent compared to duffers past.

3. I think we may have reached the point where Strictly has tipped over the scale into more ringers than learners.

4. Highlights for me were Daisy and Aljaz, Danny and Oti and Will and Karen

5. Last nights seem under marked in comparison!

1. Danny Mac was on another level to the others - brilliant to see Oti getting a true contender and fantastic choreography.
2. The judges were on drugs tonight. I think they were scoring what they wanted to see rather than what they actually saw. A nine for Daisy? Eight for Anastacia? Come off of it!
3. I don't think Daisy wheeling out the sob story will have gained her any fans.
4. AJ reminds me of Jared. Claudia also wasn't great. I don't see her winning.
5. Tameka and Anastacia are hilarious but sadly not very good at dancing.

1. Has Craig turned into Benjamin Button? The 8 paddle doesn't usually make an appearance till early December. Something's afoot darrrrlings. ( Head Judge maybe)

2. Anastasia vastly overmarked she was nearly on her arse on more than one occasion. An Eight from Craig . Craig needs a WADA drug test I think, I have NEVER seen him marking like he has on week one dances.

3. If Danny Mac can perform Ballroom to his Latin standard this is already done and dusted.

4. Daisy's waltz was beautiful ( Aljaz certainly produce good waltz's) if slightly overmarked, if she can overcome her nerves she could be a contender.

5. Len's visit to the Rocky Mountains

1) If Danny had more Cha content and less stagey stuff would have topped board
2) Liked Aljaz's waltz
3) Louise's jive was a clever routine from Kevin full of Jive steps
4) Far too much gimmicks in Claudia's routine
5) did not like Will's Tango at all

Beautiful opening.

Marking was beyond crazy.

I didn't want to like Danny but I thought he was the best of the night.

I thought Will was disappointing and he looked a mess.

Anastasia is weird.

And Claudia....stop poking fun at AJ.😒

- loved the mix of youngsters and oldsters in the opening sequence
- hate, hate, hate the scoring, nobody deserved more than a 7 at the tops, giving 8's and 9's leaves not much room for development
- we need more training videos
- I love Ed Balls thought he was undermarked
- *sighs* for the days when we had *almost* no celeb with dance experience, yes Emma Bunton, I remember you

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, although the marking was inconsistent. With one exception there was not too much "faffing about" before the dance started. We should bear in mind that they had three weeks to lerarn this week's dance, the crunch comes next week when they have to learn a new dance in less than a week.

I liked all of the contestants, even Ed Balls, (although his politics stink!) I don't think he or Leslie Joseph will be bothering the scorers for too long. Lousie Nurding gave a better performance than I thought she would. The first somersault that Claudia did worked into the dance very well, the others were a bit too obvious, but at least they are now out of the way. Anastasia is loving it as is the Judge, but in his case his enthusiasm is greater than his talent.

I shall be away next week so won't be able to see the show or vote, so it will be up to you guys to keep the right ones in.

G'night.

T.

I think Daisy losing her Grandfather on her first day of training isn't 'wheeling out the sob story'. I hope he is looking down on her with pride, her waltz was beautiful.

The sooner we lose Tameka the better, Anistacia must be commanding the largest fee and I have to commend her as she is donating her fee to charity but she was vastly overmarked and was nearly flat on her face on a number of occasions.

1. Adored everything about the opening dance, very 'Old School Strictly'. More like that please!
2. Daisy and Aljaz's Waltz was just gorgeous. Loved the choreo and styling and she danced beautifully with so much emotion.
3. Danny's good but I wasn't keen on the routine, too stagey and gimmicky. Don't think his actual Cha Cha technique was as good as the judges made out.
4. Impressed with Katya's teaching and how much Ed's posture had improved from their First Steps VT.
5. Going to be a highly competitive series, loving it already.

1. Looking forward to next week with baited breath.
2. Think the Friday night six suffered from going first and having (slightly) more sensible marking doled out to them.
3. Daisy seems a sweet lass, but that didn't deserve to top the board.
4. Not sure that ballroom will suit Melvyn or latin will suit Ed.
5. Has someone swapped Craig's brain for Tess's by accident?

Great opening - so sweet!
Crazy marking bar Darcy (the best judge)
Danny and Louise were my stand-outs
Turn Tess' mic up
Tommy Blaize can't sing Let's Dance

1) God, Melvin was awful. He should have been bottom. I'd have marked it a three! At least Ed's dance was quite sweet and looked like a routine. Melvin's a certainly for the dance-off in my opinion

2) Daisy's dance was beautiful. Waltz's don't tend to catch my attention as much but this. I think the song helped. She was elegant and graceful. She's my favourite female for sure (Greg my favourite male)

3) Danny's dancing was good but he like Ore and Melvin is going to annoy me. There's just something to try-hard about them and Danny's obvious prior experience will get on my nerves too. I hope he doesn't become this year's runaway winner.

4) Anastacia's routine was pure filth, but entertaining filth! It was overmarked but she is ever so likeable. Those splits as well!

5) I'm only 24 but Claudia and AJ make me feel ever so old watching this I think she'll improve if he can make better use of choreography and she becomes less nervous.

Sneaky 6) Loved Claud's gift to AJ. Made me howl with laughter.

1. Didn't like the opening dance too soppy and OTT for me
2. Louise was the best of the night for me, can't wait to see what she does next.
3. Glad Len mentioned the too many of Gymnastic moves in dancing, even thought most of Louis Smith's dancing were packed full and the judges never mentioned it.
4. Agreed with Len the most.
5. Too many couples getting high marks, they need to separate them more.
