1 Why in heavens were Will's trousers too short with the bright-coloured socks? Kinda ruined the mood for me. Is he a joke act or was it a plot point I missed?
2 AJ was making it all about him. Giovanni does that too. I thought Gorka would do the same, especially with a paso, but he was relatively restrained. I wish he had Kevin's partner and vice versa. 3 I'm not taking to Kevin and whatsername. I think him and Kellie left me with PTSD. And I hate it when certain pros are favoured. It's ruined DWTS and now Strictly has a pet ![]() 4 Poor Ed. Seemed sad and so did Lesley up in the Clauditorium. Katya had a bit of bitchface up there at times - can't say I blame her. 5 Craig's marks seemed obviously scripted. An 8 for Anastacia? Somebody else as well I think... Maybe they're rejigging everything for Len's departure and Anton's or whoever's debut next year – or maybe he's had a mini-stroke ? |

1. Louise's jive will look good in the final when she has more confidence and knows a lot more.
![]() Daisy's waltz was so pretty. Both Kevin and Aljaz do great jobs with their celebs. 2. A few over-marks, especially Anastasia who I like, but shouldn't have been paired with Brendan. 3. Danny was really very good for week one, and I love Oti, so I'm glad she has someone capable of so much so we can see what she can do but........ I really just don't like him and I see it only getting worse as it goes on. There's something about him I just cannot put my finger on, but I don't like him off of the floor. 4. Will Young will be worth his fee alone for those practise outfits. 5. It was really nice for the first week not to have those silly routines which is a nudge and a wink to either what they do, or their name. It seems the songs were either fitting, or songs they really liked. Also, quite a lot of routines that really focused on the dance (even Karen's which was good to see). |

1. I loved the opening number.
2. Those with previous dance/performance experience are many and at a standard above those who are complete novices to this sort of thing. 3. I hope someone like Naga who is a novice really progresses and shows us a Strictly journey. 4. The performance standard was high, but I want to see proper dance steps and evidence of progression, rather a continual delivery of show dances 5. Was it too much to hope that the first lot of VTs could have stuck to showing us actual training??? 5b. It is good to have Strictly back!! ![]()

1. Marking was way too high - no way was Louise 8's - and as others have said - nowhere to go after that. Made Friday's performances look worse than they were
2. Ed Balls was not as bad as some have been - although not looking forward to his first Latin 3. Oti and Louise looked like wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen, agree about poorly fitting costumes - hope it improves as they have less competitors 4. Stage hands should not run across in front of the camera when judges are about to give their scores 5 Melvin is O'Doomed |

1. Favourite opening number in ages.
2. Pleasantly surprised by Louise and was it just me, but her hair & makeup, anyone else get a whiff of Debbie Reynolds in Singing in the Rain? 3. Claudia & AJ are utterly adorable but the choreography has to seriously improve 4. Fab to see so many contenders, makes it so much more interesting. 5. Pleased for Oti to get a contender but not sure if Danny does it for me yet, bit OTT at the mo. |

1) Louise has improved immensely from the opening group number. She was stronger at the start of the number, I thought she started to stiffen up a little as the dance progressed, possibly over-thinking it. But, I thought she did very well.
2) Judges... crazily high votes for week 1 & missing responses. Possibly the latter existed and were edited out before broadcast. Very odd, though! 3) Danny's dance made me do a 180. He was probably my least favourite celeb right up until the dance started - but then it was amazing - and if we were voting tonight then I'd have given one of my votes to him. Still not sure what to make of him off the dance floor - but on it? Wow! 4) I thought that Daisy and Anastasia were slightly overmarked. I liked them both, but there was a wiff of sympathy voting from the judges there. 5) Ed was much better than I was expecting. In other years, that would have been a respectable low mid-table performance, but there are a lot of good dancers this year. P.S. I agree with BeyonceCastle that Will looks like Matthew Kelly, and I can see the Freddie Star thing with Ed too. |

1) Everyone seems to have already decided than Melvin will go next week
2) Anastacia and Ed will say in longer than better dancers because they are funnier 3) It's great that Saturday is again our day for Strictly live 4) Danny Mac is the best dancer 5) Claudia and AJ will win in December, having had the best 'journey' |

1. Danny should've been top of the leaderboard. Unfortunately he reminds me of Joe Swash when he speaks. Not really feeling any connection between him and Oti though.
2. AJ put way too many gymnastic moves in, I don't think she is going to be quite as good as a lot of people were expecting. She and Ed stand out a bit for their lack of showbiz 'personality'. 3. I could barely concentrate on Will's tango because of his hideous trousers (presumably made by the same person who did Ore's) but seemed to be much better choreography than usual from Karen. 4. Daisy's waltz was nice but didn't deserve a 9. 5. As someone else said, the ringer balance feels like it may have tipped too far this year. |

I adore Oti
The scoring really annoyed me. There isn't really anywhere for the scoring to go. I cannot warm to Will Young Ed did well. Katya has obviously put a lot of work and patience in on him. Melvin should have been bottom and Danny the top |

1. I love Danny, on and off the dancefloor (I may have watched him in HO- I think he's great)
For me, propbably the best dance of the night.2. Louise and Melvin really surprised me; Louise in a good way, Melvin in a bad way. I thought Louise was going to hold back, but she really went for it. 3. I hope Claudia and AJ will do better next; they just need to cut back on the tricks. She has loads of potential. 4. Karen's choreo was great tonight. Will's socks were not. 5. I hope Daisy can do Latin as well - her Waltz was great, if a little overscored (Len) |

1) I thought Danny & Oti were undermarked. They were excellent and deserved a couple of 9s. Also why did Craig not comment on them? Very odd to me.
2) I knew I would have to wait the whole show to see my favourite Will. I loved him but obviously I am biased! 3) Contrary to the press Louise and Greg didn't seem nervous at all and performed very well. 4) Craig was obviously starstruck by Anastacia and overmarked her and didn't make one criticism. He only ever does that, if he is really into them. 5) I thought the marking was good on Friday but was all over the place on Saturday. 6) I disagree with Len I actually like the gymnastic element put in the dances, it makes it more interesting as it is never something you are going to see from the professionals. 7) Judge Rinder surprised me, I thought he was good and hilarious, looking forward to seeing his other dances. 8) I'm not keen on the slow dances at all, I find them quite boring but I think Aljaz's choreography is excellent as he always somehow draws me into his dances which no-one else rarely does. |

1. Scoring was a hot mess.
2. Daisy was a really really pleasant surprise. I hope her latin is good. 3. Seriously what do the costume department have against Kevin's partners? 4. By extension of that, why was Louise wearing what I'd call 'naughty shoes'. The lack of heel makes it easier to dance. 5. I love that Oti got a great dancer this time round. |

1. The music and singers have been great. Special mention for ' Cake by the Ocean ' & ' Mercy ' for the great Cha-Cha's, and ' Let's Dance ' for the Tango - brilliant.
2. Think we're going to have another male winner this year ! 3. Scoring a 9 in week one is just silly - even Jay didn't get one until week 3 4. Danny, Will and Robert - great performances, best choreo, best songs. 5. The opening sequence with the child dancers etc. was great. |

1/ The standard is very high this year.
2/ Unimpressed by Claudia (gymnast not presenter). 3/ Loved Kevin and Louise, not only the dancing but also the theme of the dance and the look. 4/ Loved Darcy's dress. 5/ Music choices - not too bad! |

1. The beginning of the show was great.
2. Len was filthy with the "rocky mountains" comment. 3. Louise and Danny were the standouts with the latter a surprise. 4. Daisy over marked and Ed under marked. 5. Show one was better. Thank you Robert and Greg! |

1. Danny is the most obvious ringer we've had in many years but i like him. Undermarked.
2. Daisy did not deserve a 9 and i found the whole dedication thing OTT tbh. 3. Best partnership - Tameka and Gorka 4. I thought Friday's show had a better atmosphere and better judging, the latter was absolutely dire tonight 5. Tess in white again...she seems to be getting more wooden and awkward |

1. What did Melvin and Ore do to offend the wardrobe department?
2. Didn't love the opening pro dance, I like a good lively latin to kick off the series. 3. Louise has made me not hate Kevin, who'd have thought! 4. i know it's already been said but Will's trousers! Totally distracted me from the dance. Just NO. 5. Oh dear Melvin.........getting Goldie dejavu. |

1. Impressed by Daisy, Danny and Louise
2. Scores were way too high for almost everyone 3. Loving the new pros although I think Gorka is wasted on Tameka 4. Didn't enjoy Will and Karen's Tango and why did the judges not pick up on the fact that her feet left the floor several times? 5. Predicting Melvin first out |

1. Oh dear Joanne. I think she can choreograph routines a whole lot better than that. Cut out the irrelevant stuff and avoid wasting Ore's obvious ability.
2. This series could be a close one. Judging by week one I expect a bit of a rollercoaster. 3. Some of the outfits were just dire. 4. The male celebs have been paired up extremely well imo 5. Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse best in week 1 imo. |

She lucked out with a great song for the tango. |
