1) I loved the group waltz it made me teary eyed
2) Naga looked beautiful
3) Louise pleasantly surprised me - I thought she'd be Rachel Riley II
4) I want them to call him Rob Rinder not Judge
5) Claudia's "elfish" skit made me wee a bit ☺️

6) Well hellllooooooo Danny!

1) I never thought I'd think like this, but I find the standard a bit too high for a first dance!
2) Pleasantly surprised by Greg, really liked his routine and he seems like a nice guy, I think he'll go far.
3) Some of the scores were ridiculous.
4) I felt sorry for Ed, I thought he did well for a complete novice.
5) Danny seems like a nice guy but for a lot of that routine I couldn't tell who was the professional, not for me I'm afraid.

Really enjoyed the pro dance - made a nice change from some of the phrenetic stuff we saw last year, sometimes less is more.

High standard of dancing for the first week, lots of good couples

Daisys waltz was really good, but it wasn't that good

Impressed with Louise, entertained by Tameka

Good effort from Ed, he should be pleased with himself

1. Louise impressed me especially her footwork which was clean and precise.

2. I thought Will's Tango was overmarked but I was distracted by his trousers being too short so I could be wrong.

3. Melvin was the worst dancer imo and could be out first.

4. Loved Claudia as usual but thought she was a little off with Ed Balls?

5. I could watch Alijaz waltzing all day long he is a sublime ballroom dancer.

Yay - Strictly is back!!!

1. Lots of celebs with training this year, and it showed
2. Still loved Danny + Oti, and Greg (+ Natalie) were a revelation, hopefully keep my 2 current female pros around for a while
3. Surprised how much I enjoyed Louise + Kevin (don't enjoy him when he's in energizer mode, like last year). Only a couple of celebs I don't like this year.
4. Could have done without the sob story from Daisy, put me off before she'd even danced
5. Could have done without the marking, it was ludicrous!

1. Claudia definitely has potential, her dancing style reminded me of Chelsea Healey a bit. AJ needs to calm down though, finding him annoying currently.
2. I really want to like Ore but I don't.
3. I really hope some of the quieter personalities like Naga and Ed have a good run as they look like they really want to learn. Poor Naga looked terrified though so will hopefully relax a next week.
4. Oti is such a fabulous dancer, delighted she has someone in it for the duration.
5. Choreography from Janette was absolutely cringe. She's the new Ola, recycling dances from previous series'.

Yes, same here! Aljaz'z waltzes are always great!

1. Loving the standard this year

2. Judges were far too generous compared to Friday

3. Think Melvin will be first out. A real pity as it's the first year Janette's not had an annoying (imo) opinion so was willing to give her a clean slate, but yet again the dance was too gimmicky.

4. Enjoyed Anastacia's dance but the mistakes were noticeable. (Is this the first time Craig's 2 points higher than Bruno?)

5. Loving the new pros, Hoping to see more of Chloe and Katya in particular.

1. was very pleasantly surprised by Ed. He danced well.

2, Claudia was very stiff. I agree with Len about the tricks too. I was disappointed in that routine.

3. Will's socks and trousers danced a great tango. I'd rather notice Will dancing from now on though.

4. the opening dance brought tears to me eyes. It was beautiful and a nod to the days of Come Dancing.

5. Danny is way to smarmy and that is putting me off him. I know that shouldn't affect how I feel when he dances but it does.

1. Last night didn't feel right with all those high marks.

2. I want mean, nasty Craig back.

3. Too many good dancers at the start, it feels like week 8

4. Ed Balls did a good job.

5. The Friday dancers who did well must have felt a little deflated after last night.

Craig fawning over Anastasia embarrassing. Even she looked surprised.
Will danced and acted well but the mood undermined by the outfit
Loved the opening number
Ed wasn't too bad. Looked so nervous.
Daisy's waltz was nice but not amazing.

Just goes to show different perceptions as I feel like that about Will. And yes it put me off his dance, and no it shouldn't

I feel the same way about Will. Definitely something quite unlikeable about him.

I agree it shouldn't but as we are only human it does affect how we feel about the whole package doesn't it?

It has been this way since Strictly started and won't change.

1.Could watch Aljaz dancing Ballroom all day long
2.So pleased for Daisy, she comes across really well.. Worried for the Latin however
3.Like Anastacia but that 8 was ridiculous, I always view Craig as the most credible judge usually
4.Louise may mellow Kevin, liking them so far
5.Disappointed by Claudia & AJ but I feel they will improve over time

1) Contrary to popular opinion, I actually feel Daisy's Waltz was undermarked. It was better than Zoe & Ian's for me, and deserved 8, 9, 9, 9.

2) But don't get me wrong, Danny was undermarked too; I expected to see 8, 9, 7, 9.

3) Anastacia was genuinely terrified, and it didn't help that she almost died halfway through the routine; she was very, very stilted in her steps.

4) Will's trousers were too high - they made him look portly, and looked too short at the ankles.

5) Louise is good, possibly Kevin's best partner so far, but I'd be being untrue if I didn't admit that seeing him come 2nd again would make me giggle.

1) Loved the opening routine, but would have liked to have seen more 'real' dancing by the seniors instead of looking as if a bit of shuffling is all that age group can manage. Hope we see more of the kids.

2) Impressed that for once there was actually some decent music played at the right tempo, and appropriate for the dance. Tameka should think herself privileged to have been given such great paso music, especially as she couldn't even seem to say the word Paso, let alone Doble!!!!!

3) Scoring was way too high. No one on week 1 should get more than a 5, or 6 if outstanding for week 1. Len messed up by telling Daisy hers was the best dance he'd seen in week 1, so as he'd already given out 8s, he had no option but to give her a 9. But, pleasant though it was, it was full of technical errors.

4) Anastacia also way overmarked. 8 by Craig???? It was a weak dance, and full of mistakes.

5) Didn't like the tight jeans-like trousers wardrobe have dressed some of the guys in again this year (probably giving last year's trousers a second outing?) but credit where credit's due, at least someone has taken the trouble to sew up all those hideous gaping pockets they had last year.

Overall, a great first week, that promises for a good series.

Have they sewn up the pockets? I'm sure I saw Gio standing with his hands deep in his pockets at one stage... Not sure when (maybe a false memory) and I lack the tenacity to search for the moment. Maybe he unpicked the stitches on his

1 Ed wasn't terrible like I thought
2 Annastasia was undermarked
3 AJ Lets Claudia down with his choreography
4 I don't think Daisy should've had a 9
5 I think Claudia's jokes are worse than bruce& she has to go

1. Melvin was the biggest let down. Thought he would be better. Then again Latin week one.
2. Claudia looked liked she wanted to strike a pose after each bit of the routine.
3. Bored by Louise and Will. They looked efficient unsurprisingly.
4. I like Anastacia, but she is another Pamela Stephenson. Hit and miss probably.
5. Danny Mac started off at a rate of knots. Then again so did Jake Wood.

BiB - I'm not sure about that. Anastcia's first dance wasn't nearly as good as Pamela's. However, I do think that's how the judges were trying to pitch it so you may not be far wrong.

Thus far, Anastacia's far more likeable but not as competent. She was a backing dancer though so we'll see.

Oh dear, winner seems a foregone conclusion - ticks all the popular boxes.

The fact that I don't have a clue who you're talking about suggests that it's not a foregone conclusion in the slightest, at least from where I'm standing!

Perhaps I ought to have a little flutter!
