So, having now seen everyone dance once, who's your choice for first elimination?

Ed Balls. He doesn't look too happy !

I went for Melvin but I think Lesley, Ed and Naga are also in contention for the first boot.

Ed or Melvin (unless he pulls something out the bag next week)

I didn't mind Ed actually he did a lot better than I thought he would but if he does a fast dance next week it will be car crash and people will want to see more and he'll be kept in.

I think Melvin will go. Won't have a huge fanbase and his dancing is a bit "I'm not giving it my all". I actually think he could be better but isn't trying. Did he just want the cheque?

I voted Ed as i think it has been kind of pre-determined but i think it should be Melvin, Lesley or Tameka did not like any of those 3.

I think Melvin.

For me, it's to do with expectation. I think most people expected Ed to be absolutely terrible, and he wasn't, which may save him. Melvin was rubbish and also totally forgettable.

Also, Katya's choreography was far better than Janette's.

As Lesley is likely to be dancing Latin next week and knowing how ropey Anton's Latin dancing is, I wouldn't at all be surprised if they went out next week.

I say Ed Balls, the other mentioned won't be far behind.

If Ed was still a politician in the government, not even a "three line whip" would save him.

if Ed is in the bottom two he's toast however if hes kept out (and i hope he is )
then i wanna see melvin or lesley leave

I'd say Melvin & Janette, in the dance off with Naga & Pasha!

Ed's never faired too well with public votes, and Melvin (or anyone else who ends up as a bottom two shocker) will be saved over him. Lesley should be carried through by the Anton vote regardless of her Latin, and ditto Naga by the not-at-all-creepy female BBC Breakfast presenter vote. So yeah, I'd say Ed.

(I don't actually want to lose any of them, which is novel)

I think the public "might save Janette," she has her fans and I'm one of them.

She's a superb ballroom and Latin dancer.

I agree that Janette is probably more popular than her partner, but I don't think it'll be enough to save them, especially when they've got ballroom next week and she's just not brilliant at ballroom - she can dance it fairly competently, but she's not in the same league as many of the other pros in that respect (though equally she outshines a fair few at Latin). I don't think she was in the ballroom pro dance tonight, unless I missed her? Maybe she'll choreograph the routine for next week with Aljaz though.

i think the dance-off will be Melvin v Ed, and assuming he dances his Waltz (much as I disliked the choreography for that as well), then Ed would deserve to stay.

They will do the week 2 dance in the dance-off, irrespective of which scored higher.

Is that how it's always worked? In the semi-finals they're allowed to choose/do the higher scoring one, so I don't see why it should be any different here! I can't remember what happened the past few years though.

?????

So how does that one work then
Could understand your point if you were actually voting for who you wanted out but are you saying that all tories will purposely vote for his nearest rivals to get him out? Seems a
little far fetched & unlikely to say the least!!

I suspect it will be Melvin though I would much rather it was Tameka or Judge Rinder both of whom I find really irritating, epecially Tameka!!

I went for Melvin although I think Naga might also be at risk, Ed should be OK unless he has a really bad Latin next week and even then he might be kept for comedy value by the public.

Just like all the Conservative voters on here have indicated

I think Ed will get through (scrape through) because as much as I (ashamedly) had been looking forward to seeing how bad he was, he had worked so hard and he was so reserved and gentlemanly after his dance (and throughout on the balcony) that it made me think I'd like him to get a confidence boost. I expect he is fully aware that he is bottom of the pile in ability stakes but I think his effort will draw some additional voters next week.

BTW I'd love to know how much weight he has lost - he was certainly looking in better shape than at the launch show!

I went for Melvin too. What surprised me was how poor he was, When they had the partner reveal show and they did the group dance, he was one of the celebs who stood out for me as *one to watch* he showed way more rhythm than he did in his dance last night. Quite disappointing.
