I guess that's for you to figure out.

I like him a lot. He's extremely talented, all of his dance partners love him, he doesn't fake any showmances, he's enthusiastic and brings a lot of positivity to the show.

I find it interesting that folks can form an opinion of someone without actually speaking to them. It would be fun if Kevin choregraphed one of his dances this year to the tune of "Getting to Know You". Can some think of a dance that would suit that song?

Is it his flea-on-a-hotplate dancing, or is it his nerdy ingratiating look with the glasses so thick it takes light 30 seconds to get through.
It's odd that his sister has a tougher, more no-nonsense style. Is he younger?

I don't generally mind Kevin, but he can be a bit... overbearing, and I thought he actually toned that down a bit tonight. (Maybe aware last year's partnership didn't go down well with some.)

Kevin is often described as marmite, but I've always been more neutral with him. Never got behind any of his partnerships as yet to support, but he doesn't annoy me in the way hes seems to annoy others either.

I'm really liking his partnership with Louise this year though.

Not my favourite but he doesn't bother me in the slightest. He seems like a nice guy, obviously gets on with his partner and has done some great dances.

I still don't get why people have such strong feelings about him tbh!

I don't mind Kevin, but think sometimes his dancing style is too 'OTT' for my taste. However this year, being given one of the most ready polished contestants ever, he either needs to finally win or be given a stream of Anton contestants for the next 3 years!

Agreed. I think he is quite cute, too.

(Not too keen on his sister, though)

My only issue with him his constant attention seeking. On most episodes last year he managed to work himself and his partner bang in the centre of the opening line up when all the couples come down the Stairs and last night his reaction to the Judges scores was so OTT I found it embarrassing. I would suggest that if he was able to take some humble Tablets each week he would be more popular.

I loved his 40's style jive last night. Louise looked comfortable with it - and him.

He seems to adapt well to his partners, Louise is more in the style of Frankie and he brought her out of her shell as he will with Louise I'm sure. He got Susanna much further that she would probably have got otherwise. Kelly was talented but I have mixed feelings about their partnership. A lot of the time they both looked like they needed to be 'decaffinated'. They did fit well together though and he was able to showcase her style well - he also went along with a lot of what she wanted. Maybe someone else would have toned her down a bit but would she then have been so obviously happy and effervescent. I'm not sure.

I think he is talented, adaptable and does well both for and with his partners. That is all I expect really. I would contrast him with Janette who is really nice and a good dancer but never seems to bring the best out of her partners. She has a 'style' regardless of who she is partnering. I really like her though but that isn't the point really.

Kevin can be OTT and a bit unbearable at times but he's a nice person and there is no reason why you should dislike someone you don't know personally.

Hey, another Clifton bashing thread in less than 24 hours, HOW ORIGINAL!!!

If I had a drink every time someone opens a new thread bashing the Cliftons I'd be a hopeless drunk by now.

Glug!

I'm definitely in the 'what the hell did he ever do wrong?' school. The dislike feels freakish to me. I think people are possessed my malign spirits. Any way, fwiw, this year my favourite Clifton is Karen. Thought her tango choreography was brilliant

Well, I could if I were like some of the contributors on here, dish out a lot of personal vitriol to you for having the audacity to "dis" someone I find entertaining.
But being an adult and not one of those on here who are obsessed by certain people on TV, I won't.

You're entitled to any opinion you like, as am I and I'm sure it won't make any difference to either of us that we have polarised views.

Well said. Same opinion regarding his dancing, personally find it too saccharine.

Karen has been my favourite pro for a long time.

I'm also baffled of the hate for Kevin, to the point that people try to pinpoint where he and his celeb stand in line or group. I think it stems from him being in the finals so many times, each time direct competition to other contestants.

You are not alone, maybe it is because he always looks so smug.

I would be very surprised if he worked his way anywhere or had an influence over where he stands. He along with all the performers will have a mark and once introduced will be expected to go and stand on that mark. Live TV wouldn't chance performers wandering in and standing where they like, it might not fit the camera-work planning.

I think he seems like a lovely supportive professional who brings out the best in all his partners. One thing you can say is they all seem to have a blast.

I'm not a fan of his style of dancing and choreography and coupled with Kellie the personality was too much (ditto Susanna) he gets on much better from a PoV of how his partnership comes across with people like Frankie and Louise who provide a cool balance to his eagerness.

He also seems to have reigned in his theming and choreography this year, as Louise's jive was pitched just right, packed with content but not too much. So for me this is an interesting partnership.

I do think a pro has only Earned their stripes when they've had a full blown duffer, so I'm sure once he has one people will calm down a bit.

Funnily enough after Kellies insane jive choreography last year with that briefcase and pelting round the dance floor I'm wondering how highly she'd have scored if she'd got Louise's jive instead. I bet she'd have nailed it.
