Fragapane, not Winkelman. I see that somebody got a bit of stick for posting a thread on Anastacia instead of leaving comments among the general thread, but I thought why not?
So here are my comments on Claudia. She is a world-class gymnast, no argument there. She is fresh back from Rio, where her team finished fifth (although she suffered a personal disaster in her own routine, but these things happen, even to the best). Therefore, she and Greg must be the fittest and most supple contestants of them all, and by a significant margin. Before I watched her, I thought that her gymnastic ability would stand her in good stead for her dancing. Now I am not so sure. Bruno had a point when he said that gymnastics and dancing do not always go well together because one tends to get in the way of the other. The best parts of her routine were the gymnastic flips that she put into it - and the dancing came to a stop for her to do them. Either AJ finds a way of incorporating them more smoothly into the routine, or she would do better without them. So how did she do? I thought her actual dancing was nothing special. She must be capable of better than that. Also her sheer lack of size, and her chunky build, may prove to be serious handicaps. Daisy Lowe looked fantastic in the waltz - but she's 5' 10" in her bare feet. Claudia is still well under five feet in high heels, so how is she going to extend a limb that is so short to begin with? I hope I am wrong because I would like her to do well. Louis Smith won in 2012, so let's not write her off yet.
