That was insane?? She was one of the best ones. Pathetic that she had to apologise for singing in French as well when we had to sit through Andrea singing in Italian and no one complained.

She got an unusually long edit for someone who got the cut and a big deal was made of Nicole taking a real interest in her.............
But yeah she's probably gone

She was a great singer, but her attitude stunk.

she did come across as a bit entitled

i dont think there was anything xenophobic at all about people being confused by her singing her second song in french, it was just no-one recognised what she was singing

i think one of the comments from the judges, nicole maybe, about her not being in france was uncalled for but didn't change the fact the second song just wasn't very good

She's back as the Overs wildcard, but I think she will be the cannon fodder to make sure Honey G gets through to the lives

she got rid of both of them and if Honey is coming back (I don't want to spoil anything ) then why would it be about hating Saara?

Saara is a very warm and humble person, but also a true perfectionist as an artist. She was nervous and in shock because Sharon was so strict. I think she had no control over her reactions/emotions at the moment. She was desperate, because she wants this so much.

To be honest, it all felt a little scripted to me. Simon and Nicole loved/praised her, but Sharon didn't want to even consider a seat.

I personally think “Je Suis Malade” wasn't the wisest song choice (she also admitted that in Finnish media tonight), but I can't blame her. Saara was in shock and probably all she could think of was her personal favorite song: Je Suis Malade. Saara sings it often and her version is fantastic. I think Saara wanted to prove Sharon that she's not just talented but also a soulful performer. Maybe she also thought multilingualism would be a good bonus - which it apparently wasn't.

I don't know whether it's because she was over emotional at that point but that particular version of Je Suis Malade was awful - she was completely out of tune!

Shes got a great voice but came across as a bit arrogant when Sharon wasn't keen.

I agree with you! She sounded bad in the short clip.

I've seen her perform many times and never heard her singing out of tune before. I think she was pretty emotional and desperate.

She's recorded the song, btw:

I like her and think it was disgusting the way the crowd and judges reacted to her singing in French. What has happened to this country? Seriously are we now condemning people for being multilingual and worldly? As for that idiot Nicole, you don't have to be in France to sing in French yeesh. Do people forget the amazing Ruth Lorenzo who sang in Spanish during the lives shows at times?

Exactly, "we ain't in France", but Christine and the Queens has been having international success over here this year. Nicole might not have noticed, but thankfully the cultural boundaries of music are becoming more and more blurred thanks to the likes of Spotify and their new music playlists giving music fans immediate access to genres from all over the world.

Good example, I just can't get over the horrible crowd who began to boo purely because the song was not in english.

I don't think the booing was because the song was in French - it was because she had moaned her way to a second song then was all over the place with it. Sing a French song well and no one would care.

How well would it go down in france if someone on their X Factor sang in English ?
big bang theory

Saara has a very good voice, however I do think that this show is to blame for her not going through though with song choices that have been below par for her style of Music after her strong version of Chandelier.

In my opinion I would give her a song from mainland Europe with a bit of a Nordic twist to it as that's what her voice sounds like in my view.

And yes it's ridiculous that the crowd are booing someone for singing in French, how dare they be multilingual.

They have done on more than one occasion! An Englishman actually won the second series.

i dont know, the french are far more insular as a society than we are when it comes to the use of french

not really sure what point you are trying to make

are you claiming it was xenophobic to reject her purely because she sang in french as that seem to be what you are saying ?

edit : just to add i'll repeat what i said earlier, i think she got booed because no-one recognised what she was singing, i didn't realise she was singing in french until it was mentioned on the show, i just assumed she was singing some obscure song and i couldn't make out what she was singing

Lyrics are 95% the most powerful part of every song you sing, when she was given a lifeline, she decided to sing in French to an English speaking public, bizzare does not cover it. I think she went into panic mode and just sang what she felt most comortable with, was totally the wrong decision but under the circumstances I can understand why she did that, she was not thinking/had no time to think.

Her version of Chandelier was terrific. Everything else has been inconsistent and not nearly to the standard she set for herself at first. She proved she can sing beautifully with a song choice that suits her and under certain conditions, but she also has shown her limitations and that she cracks when stressed. I like her, and heard something special in her tone and artistry at first audition, but I doubt she will sustain the level of support she has if she doesn't have another of the kind of brilliant moments she is capable of , and soon.

Je suis malade is one of the greatest songs ever; the whole world knows it - maybe UK should just catch up It's one of the songs usually used in talent shows, because every female aspires to give a powerful rendition of this song, that would equal Lara Fabian's.
