I couldn't believe that Sharon refused to give her a seat. It almost makes me think that Sharon just didn't like her for some reason. She has a beautiful voice.

I think that is one thing most of us can agree on. At her best, her voice is beautiful.

I thought she was excellent in her first audition when she sang Chandelier, she was one of the best singers. I was surprised that Sharon didn't give her a seat when she sang at the 6 chair challenge. I didn't know the first song she sang (I See Fire, was it something like that?) but I thought she did well with it. She was far superior to many others. Loads of average singers were given seats yet she was told she didn't connect.

She should just have accepted it and kept her dignity. Barging back on and then shouting out a song in a foreign language didn't do her any favours. She should have just left with good grace.

I have to say I winced when the crowd booed her for singing in French. It sounded like she was singing at a UKIP rally.

Did they really boo or was it dubbed on? Last year we deconstructed the cuts to the audience and loads weren't even relevant to the act being shown. It's all a pantomime anyway - the audience just chants the opposite to what the judges say, hence all the 'swap, swap, swap' 'seat, seat, seat', 'bring them back' etc. All we need is a few 'oh no he didn'ts' some 'he's behind yous' and it's job done. And in pantos and films, baddies are often 'foreigners' so the poor girl was just on the receiving end of a stereotype if it was indeed genuine booing.

It was absolutely ridiculous, and I don't care if she came across as "self indulgent" as she certainly didn't deserve to be booed off the stage. She was put on the spot and sang the most comfortable song that immediately came to mind for her.
It was the judges and audience that really showed themselves up to be thick and ignorant.
I mean the whole point of music is that it translates any borders regardless of language, and they didn't even give her a chance once they figured "OMG she isn't singing in English, how dare she!"
I think Saara is too classy for this kind of show.

Poor Saara. Little did she know that the audience wouldn't be au fait with any language other than English. She may have resonated with the audience a bit more if she sang "like" and "literally" between every other note.

Knowing the musical calibre of X Factor, if she had chose any One Direction song and sang it out of tune she would have sailed through.

Yeah I don't know what the booing was all about that was bang out of order, but there is no doubt that it looked REALLY strange when she suddenly started belting out in French. Anyway she is back now lets hope she can turn it around!!

This is probably a silly question to ask, but do any of these countries talent shows do J-Rock? I've always wanted to hear a talent show version of The World by Nightmare.

They're not factoring in that Saara is a multilingual singer either. "You're not in France now, honey" is a very ignorant statement to make.

J rock is not performed on any of the shows Amanda mentioned or on this show.Songs are not performed in Swahili either. I have never heard anything performed in Piegan (Blackfoot Native American) or other Native American language on any of the European shows, either. Are you even aware of the music and songs, Amanda? Are any of you?. You should all be aware of music that has little to no cultural context for you, in unfamiliar languages,dammit!The ignorance!!!

No of course they don't have to be aware, but they could learn to open their ears to appreciate music that is unfamiliar to them, or at the very least give it a try instead of being downright rude and dismissive.

I really think the excessive booing and such was staged/encouraged. A cold reaction was understandable, because she was behaving unprofessionally (though it was understandable and may well have also been part of a set up) she didn't sing her second song very well regardless of the language/familiarity, and it really was a rookie mistake she made not choosing a song many would instantly recognize under the circumstances.

What matters is, she will get another chance under calmer conditions. Everyone makes mistakes and panics sometimes, and we can;t know if it was scripted loosely or genuine anyway.Hopefully, she will do well. I do like her, and love her voice.

1. French isn't just another language and the analogies you're making are farfetched.
2. Yes, I was familiar with the concept of J-Rock; no, I did not know any bands that performed that kind of music. It may not even be my thing, but I quite liked the suggestion big bang theory made and The World is actually a good song. I happen to like songs that I don't understand the lyrics to - one of my favorite songs is in Russian. I enjoyed songs in Korean too.
As some others have pointed out, language in music should not be a barrier - but I guess there's a long way from "should" to "is".

I agree that it shouldn't be. That sadly won't change that in a situation like singing for a spot on an English show against a bunch of closely matched talented singers, it makes a difference. Also, actually, yes, French is just another language, same as any. My point stands.

I'm definitely intrigued to see what she performs at JH for Sharon

Its gonna be 1000x better, she has a great, great NATURAL singing voice which I think many overlook these days not to mention pretty good ability too, although I have seen signs that she might struggle when she lacks confidence/is nervous. I think she will now be able to gather her thoughts and come up with something better!

I'm so curious about her song choice. This is her one final chance, and I'm sure it'll be amazing. I trust her.

She got a lot of screen time, but unfortunately it was mostly drama. We didn't see much of “I See Fire” which Simon Cowell seemed to appreciate. I think her nerves got to her and that's why she messed up the second song.

I don't think the "I'm a snow angel from Finland" comment helped at all, that was possibly related to why Sharon did not feel a connection.

Yeah, that sort of came across like she thought she stood out a LOT. I was very surprised when she said that. I still think she should have been given a chair, but showing that you think that you stand out from the rest isn't really going to warm you to the judge/s that will decide whether or not they want you in their category.
