I'm convinced it's just an actress playing a character that will be revealed at some point.

Otherwise no one can be that deluded surely

Of course she is. She's a middle class degree educated woman who owns her own recruitment consultancy for IT professionals

It has to be a bet, surely?

Yes. She probably posts on DS and is doing it for the LOLZ.

Yes, but why is everyone playing along? You only need to Google her name and her real information comes up. She's not exactly hiding her identity.

It's 2016 though, that ship has sailed with Ali G in it.

No question its a prank.

If she were real, she'd be sitting in a padded room in a psychiatric home right now.

Yes, clearly a prank. A prank so well thought out and planned in advance she actually released a single a year ago, clearly instructed to by Cowell who knew full well that he'd bring her in to the X-Factor a year later to "prank" people.

If you hate Cowell then fair enough, no issue with that, but there's really no logical reason for this to be a "prank".

So glad she has gone, I like the odd joke act, but she was not funny, just annoying.

So of all the acts that were booted off in the 6 chair challenge, Honey G is the best choice as an alternate? Lol, suuuuuuuuure. *cough* plant *cough*

Sounds like she's real:

As we learned, she's an urban music artist/rap music artist/producer

"Honey G. started mixing in 1999. After mixing for only 4 months she made her 1st appearance at Club Abbyss in Ayia Napa and gained a DJ residency at Gas club in the summer of 2000," her website explains.

"In the early 2000’s she launched her own club night called Luvibe in Manchester whilst studying and DJ-ed at many venues in the UK on the UK Garage Scene. Luvibe was all about showcasing Black Female talent. She also made appearances on BBC Radio 1xtra and Radio 1 after she graduated in Popular Music and Recording from Salford University and came runner up in the National Student DJ Competition sponsored by Ministry of Sound."

I'm curious about her - I totally think she has had the music background as stated above, but I'd be amazed if she's been doing this in the past 5-10 years (all of the above seems to have been happening quite some time ago).

She is, quite clearly (and widely reported), a middle class, 35 year old, Jewish woman from north London - I mention the Jewish thing purely because she was heavily involved in Jewish sporting competitions whilst at university. She claims to have 'lost' her middle class accent because she became involved in the underground music scene - and for that alone, I'm calling her a great big fake.

She is clearly a canny business woman, who realised that a 35 year old, who can't sing (or rap - let's be honest here!) isn't going to go anywhere on this show, unless they have a gimmick. This is hers - and she's fronting it for all she's worth to get on TV. She very likely knows she looks and sounds ridiculous, but the show producers will have assured her that this act was/is popular with the audience, and she's there to provide 'fun'! I would be amazed if she ever appears on screen without at least one of either sunglasses and/or giant trucker cap - the smoke and mirrors of it all entirely depend on the ridiculous image she has created.

Right now, she will be pushing for all she's worth to get column inches, because there is now an extremely limited shelf life between being selected for the show, and actually appearing on the live portion of the show. In that time, she needs to build up her profile as fast as possible - to justify any future work she wants to get on the back of this. She'll be the 'joke DJ' people hire for their events or, if she really hits a jackpot, will get another reality TV show. It's all ways of earning money these days. And. oh look, she's talking to the press about a sex attack, which is a terrible thing to happen, but you've got to ask why she's releasing this kind of information now.

As an interesting aside, she's already said her small business is in lots of debt - and is looking to make money to help support her business. I don't object to anyone finding new outlets to support their businesses, and this is hers. it's just we all have to suffer her indignities on Saturday night live TV for some time to come - and it's genuinely painful to watch!

It's obviously an act. It could only turn out good, if the producers aren't in on the joke. Sadly I think they are.
