"a little"???

Not even Tameka could take 'OTT' to THAT level of ridiculousness...

God help us if Lesley reaches Blackpool...

She wiped away a few tears, probably proud of a friend that she has known for a long time - nothing wrong with that.

I have done the same thing myself at a loved ones achievements.

So how is she going to top that if she's in the audience next week??

So, she got through a routine to a song which has probably done both of their heads in...wonder if she would have reacted the same had Lesley danced the jive to "Cake By The Ocean" instead of Danny??

Quite! There's some right miserable wotsits on this forum, isn't there?

She was clearly proud of her friend having danced pretty well to a song that meant a lot to both of them.

...873 threads slagging off the Cliftons.

It's not even that I'm a huge fan, but the negativity is so damned boring.

I find it a tad strange that people would find someone wiping a few tears away 'annoying'.

Given that she's a close friend of Lesley's, and has watched an elegant and poignant dance to a song which will mean a lot to her I really don't think it was all that much of a surprise that she got a bit emotional.

Perhaps people might have the opinion that it's unnecessary (I certainly don't think it was as I've stated above!) but I really don't see why it would 'annoy' you

Call me cynical, but did I see someone next to her mouth, "Now! The camera's on you?"

Let's all keep a sense of proportion and humour.

I didn't see anything wrong with Linda shedding a tear for a friend's achievement. I never saw anyone whisper to her either but she was sat next to Stacy Solomon and Joe Swash who were there to support Laura, but Linda has known Joe since he was very young as they come from the same area.

Ori boring the backsides off us with his nervous as hell routine.. ALL AN ACT.... He knows he is good. fortunately there are enough better than him so he is unlikely to win

I agree with you just having watched the clip again. Linda Robson wasn't given any cue to start crying.............that we the TV audience could see at any rate...............She may have been "advised" the camera would be on her at some point but that is something we will never know.........

I was just having a bit of fun, I haven't a clue if anything was said to her.

It's all showbusiness, wouldn't be the same without a bit of drama, would it?

The problem is you never know what is a natural reaction, or some "carefully rehearsed spontaneity."

Spot on sir.......

I did think LRs reaction was a bit over the top

Aww bless her , she was so proud of her friend doing a rather pretty (if somewhat imperfect) waltz to a song that has meant a lot to both of them over the years .
I like Linda , she seems down to earth and very un-luvvy , and it's lovely to see her there for Lesley .

That dwarf from "The Hobbit" is dancing? Bloody hell, I missed that one. Let me know when Kili turns up at his training session.

Yes. Though I found the glimpse of Will's denim short shorts in the training video to be much worse, I hope wardrobe don't get any ideas.

I actually mean in a "what on earth...???" kind of way - so perhaps "annoying is the wrong word. Either way, her tears were unnecessary IMO.

Likewise, I like Linda and always have - as you say, she is who she is, take her or leave her. I just thought her reaction here was totally uncalled for.

I found the opening dance on the Saturday show really emotional and felt quite weepy. I had to pretend to hubby that I had something in my eye

Some of us are more emotional than others.

I myself found it quite a touching dance, so for someone like Linda, seeing her old friend up there on the dancefloor giving it her best shot to such a sentimental tune and doing a fine job with it (considering her years) I don't see why shedding a few tears at the end of it is seen as so ridiculously OTT?

quite agree!

I dont see anything wrong with shedding a few tears and being seen to be a little emotion when one of your dearest friends steps out in front of 12 million viewers and dances live to a song that was part of both of their lives for many, many, many years!

I'm not a miserable git but, as a bloke, cry very rarely and have never understood 'tears of emotion' re a film, tv programme etc.

However, I will say that I noticed Lesley looked a little 'lost' when the music ended and she was sat there on her own. There was a clear hint of emotion and maybe that's what set Linda off.

Wonder why you had to pretend - does your hubby also not "get it"?
