Sadly I think so and now time to pull the plug because it really is dire imo.

There is no joy any more.

No, I dont think so. I admit its not a patch what it once was, but having it in any shape or form is better than not having it

Better to have it and switch off in disgust than to feel its absence.

The only thing that could save it is the one thing they won't do ... 24/7 Live Feed

Yes i do think it's past redemption. So many of it's biggest followers ( me included ) has switched off now. It's just crap now, there is nothing to get excited about anymore, the whole show is a farce.

Channel 5 have done too much damage to it now. Most people will remember Big Brother for being a show for the Made In Chelsea / TOWIE / Geordie Shore lot now, it's only the fans that have been watching it for years that will remember BB for the good times. Even if Channel 5 tried to change things, people wouldn't give it the time of day because of the bad reputation it has built up in the last few years. Even if a new Channel picked BB up now i doubt they would be able to reverse the damage done.

That isn't enough for me anymore. A few years ago maybe, but the show has to go through more changes than bringing live feed back for me to jump back on board.

I despair at the possibility of a 'Golden Housemates' or 'All-Stars' (!) series. The only way I would be encouraged to watch those weirdos (Speidi) and the revolting Perez Hilton again, is if they sealed up the house and forgot to install the air vents. Vile individuals who were unbearable the first time around and whom I don't wish to see again.

The current circus in charge are an absolute joke. It shouldn't be allowed to continue unless a new production team is installed.

The lack of live feed, interference, contrived conflict, bias editing, favouritism, engineered tasks, lax rules, pathetic 'Big Brother', lame punishments, obvious vote-fixing, pandering to housemates, outside information, ZERO amount of FUN and overall repetitiveness - to name just a few - killed the programme. The premise is now non-existent, the concept is lost and the whole show is almost unrecognisable.

Add to that, a host who's clearly lost interest, another one who'd open up a tin of beans for exposure, together with arse-licking his bosses to get all of his mates onto the show, and I'm struggling to find a reason to watch. It's already been said, the damage has been done and it's irreparable sadly. It all feels very much like 2011 again, but a million times worse.

It's still watchable but its target audience has changed with the growing popularity of reality tv programmes like Mic, Towie, GS and EonB. I actually like all the romance, conflict and drama. I used to get bored of those BBs where there was lots of footage of people drinking coffee and chatting aimlessly.

Absolutely my thoughts entirely. If you dont like it or enjoy it, dont watch it, but at least its an option for those who might want to watch it

That would go a long way I'm sure

I don't think of it as "past redemption", because i think 99% of viewers that used to watch have accepted it's another form, and not BB in it's original form.

So I don't think it's past redemption, i think of it as just a reality show I can enjoy and I really enjoyed BB17, and we did enjoy the most normal nominations in a long time. I don't really think of it as the BB that was on between 2000-2006.

I think it probably is.

I'd love to have the courage to let it go, but not sure I'll ever shake off my curiousity, if only to see if it can get even more dire!

All of this. ^^^

BB sadly, is the biggest pile of crap on telly now.

Needs to be scrapped NOW.

I would keep BB going for a bit longer, fills up some time in the evening. If the show is ever to be axed people would only ask for it to comeback.

The thing is as long as we all accept that this show is fixed then we are ok. Bear winning as an example

It's rigged to the rafters, therefore, it's totally pointless.

It needs to die, but it lost any dignity it had years ago.

Prolonging the agony is an understatement. Yes - it has evolved, and yes, it's an entirely different show. However, there is absolutely no point in boxing up a turd and sticking a bow on top - which is exactly what Channel 5 are and have been doing for the past few years. The producers appear to have a mental age of 5 and approve of bullying/forced conflict - they are an utter disgrace!

I still want to give the normal series a go next year but the so called celebrity series is past redemption with a vote to save favouring reality stars from shows I never want to watch.

Despite the continuing and ever growing criticism, on here and elsewhere, it still just keeps going. Every series is allegedly gonna be the last one according to those who know "insiders" same thing year after year.

I have simply accepted it for what it now is, as it will never return to the glory days of 10 years ago. C5 clearly have their own agenda and no amount of online criticism is gonna make them change that. You either watch what it now has become or you stop watching simple. The question of redemption is moot, as the errors of the past are still being made today and will continue to be but BB nonetheless continues regardless.

For me i still watch BB simply because there is no alternative, any BB is better then no BB, the fact that as bad as it has got, i still havent given up is proof of that for me! Plus i enjoy joining in the chat on here during each run, so really it is DS that is to blame as without this, i probably would have quit by now !

I think it "keeps going" because no matter how a series is, it still does well for the channel. I think BB17 was supposed to be "make or break" for the regular series. IMO the series saved the civilian version as it was not only well received but higher than the previous two civilian series despite more competition.

Prior to the latest CBB series, I think CBB was in a much better position as regular (CBB17 did very well as did the previous two winter series), but the latest series pissed a lot of people off... whereas the regular series was saved.

CBB17 was bad, and BB17 was great... my opinion.

Two shows per year to fill hasn't helped - I'd rather just have one good series per year and cut out all the scripted reality types that have ruined it.

No argument from me - BB17 was way better then CBB17, even in relative terms, BB17 was no great shakes itself afterall and had lots of faults but head to head blew the last CBB out of the water.

i agree with this too, two cbb's a year has just not worked for me, even before they started with this, i hated the idea and nothing since has made me think any different.

I enjoyed CBB17.

The ironic thing is that for Channel 5 they are probably happy with the viewing figures,. I don't see the show being axed anytime soon they will just carry on.

No, it's certainly not past redemption. Two of the three series this year (BB17 and CBB17) were good. I think people's biggest problem is that the show has changed in how manipulated it is. I understand this, but at the same time the show was always headed that way with so many other reality shows to compete with - they needed to adapt. I accept the show for what it now is and can still get some enjoyment from it.

It's the parrot in the Monty Python sketch, with C5 in the John Cleese role. Rylan will happily play along with anything but Emma's struggling.

Surely having the fantastic, game changing, new show making, second house makes up a teensy weensy bit for all that?
