Can't decided between S7 or iPhone SE?
I took delivery yesterday of both the Galaxy S7 and the iPhone SE, Both were the same price on contract, I can't decided between the two.
I am currently using a Galaxy S5 and the be honest the S7 doesn't feel much different to the S5. Sure its a powerhouse of a phone but I only ever use email, facebook twitter etc so I don't notice it any faster than my S5. Now the iPhone SE, I have noticed the screen isn't as good as Samsung and also it feels very dated, it is very fast however. I really can't decided, can only keep 1, I'm not heavily stuck in the android eco system as I only ever use free apps. Any advice? |

Water resistance -i killed a£450 phone last year by dropping it into the loo for 15 seconds. It happens A LOT.
Expandable memory. You need this. These top range cameras mean your photos take up lots of space. Fast charging Wireless charging. That's just off the top of my head, all killer reasons to choose the Samsung. It's streets ahead. |

It comes down to which you prefer. I imagine the S7 is bigger and that would be a main part of the decision for me. One of the reasons I chose the SE and must say I love it. After doing loads of driving over the weekend, it was really useful. Ordered one for my wife too which should turn up in the next hour. Very impressive little phone with a great camera and all the Apple pay etc. etc. and touchpad security.
I'm sure the S7 can match it on features so it's really a straight choice as to which you prefer. You might also consider that generally iPhones get access to all the latest network tech such as VOIP etc. first and often apps too, plus Apple pay is already ahead of Android pay in rollout terms. So it depends what is important to you. They are both great devices. |

I think it's on par now with the exception of barclays, but they have their own app that's fine anyway. I'm also unsure what you mean about "access to the latest network tech first". VOIP was able to be used on Android phones years before iphones. Also 4G was on Android phones before iphones. Can you clarify what you mean? |

In what way? Pretty much all the major banks support it, and it can be used in every shop that has contactless.

It's conundrum. If you can't decide you don't know what you want. If you don't know what you want you can't decide. So what do you do? You ask others who usually have predetermined preferences and opinions who will give you their slanted view of what is best or worse and you end up with someone else's choice. It's a conundrum.

You don't need this with an iPhone! - it can optionally seamlessly upload photos to iCloud while leaving a small thumbnail on the handset for indexing.

I've recently had an SE and have been using an S7 Edge for a week. Have to say, for me, the S7 surpasses the iPhone in every way, for the way I use it. The screen in particular is just superb.

Yes but your 5GB of free iCloud storage doesn't get you far. I'm paying £2.49 a month for 200GB of iCloud storage and I have a 128GB iPhone.
Just like you can with Android/Google also its free and unlimited

ONLY if you don't mind all your photos being "reprocessed" (and possibly downscaled) by Google...which I most certainly do! Apple's version stores full-resolution on the Cloud with optional reduction down to indexing-only resolution on the device.
Apple gives you 5gb. |

Or you upload at original quality, which will use up your storage. As I pay about $20 a year for 100GB (and have loads of extra storage free from various Android promotions and a Chromebook purchase) I am swimming in space - but I actually set it to use the free space anyway, so I can potentially stop paying in the future and not lose anything (well, be forced to download and archive somewhere else). The searching and sorting on Photos is amazing, as is the automatic creation of albums, creation of panoramic images, collages, videos, animations etc - and face recognition. I am sure Apple Photos can of course do all of that too, but I'm very happy with Photos and have been for ages. |

Google only downsizes images over 16MP and 4K video down to 1080 (and it keeps at 60FPS if the source was). So I'm not sure it's really that much of a problem.
From, for example, http://android.stackexchange.com/que...under-16-megap Google openly said in its announcement as well as in its help pages that the free unlimited High Quality option will compress photos 16 MP and under - but will still keep the same resolution and "almost" the same indistinguishable quality. |

And your point is?????????? For most normal people the functionality of a phone matters A LOT more than basic specs!
