Arrow Season Five (US Pace spoilers tagged)
So doesn't look like we got round to creating an Arrow Season Five thread so here it is.
Plenty of spoilers have been coming out but this is a quite nice spoiler free S5 promo article from ComicBook: http://comicbook.com/2016/09/23/revi...on-5-premiere/ |

This Team Arrow 2.0 could end up alienating a core part of the viewers this year.

People like original team arrow to get the screen time....I however want felicity gone due to the olicity business, I used to like her.

Five years in, and I think the team could do with a shakeup. I don't mind Felicity at all, she brings the comic relief that is vastly needed, though I would agree that the Olicity business needs to be left in Season 4. They say opposites attract, those two do not.
Rumours have stated things are very different for Diggle this season (because of Flashpoint). I'm honestly not too bothered about Thea either, she's kind of become boring. Curtis will be the main interest this year I think (in addition to the flashback scenes in Russia; hopefully we'll get to see more of Zelenka). An ideal team for me: Ollie Arsenal Black Canary (Sara) Vixen Constantine (because)

When Oliver and Felicity actually got together it was fine, they introduced completely out of character behaviour for her simply to make drama. Quote:

Anyone else seen the Deathstroke pictures over on Instagram/Facebook? I think they're hinting a return to Slade on Arrow. Would be epic if so. Was one of the better villains, even if he wasn't wrote the best. |

I did, interesting considering Manu didn't perhaps leave under the best of conditions and has spoken out about how he felt they did Slade a disservice

The way I see it, either they've negotiated a better story for the character over the duration of several episodes, or it's a small appearance for one episode. Arrow has it's 100th episode coming up soon doesn't it? Maybe it'll be for that!

Totally agree with Flash525 on both the shakeup of Team Arrow which was needed a while back and the fact that Oliver with Felicity doesn't work as relationship!
Although Flash525 I do love Constantine and that is one character that needs to get his show back or at least regular guest appearances. He is a loner and doesn't work well in a team! Arrow should have got rid of Diggle and Thea a while back as neither added anything to Team Arrow especially Diggle Magento rip off helmet which just looked stupid The new team does look interesting and it's good to see Curtis in the Team hopefully heading towards Mr Terrific! |

Can't bring myself to decide if I want to watch this season or not. Previous season was such a let down, and a smack in the face. I love Green Arrow as a character, but didn't like what they did with him last season. I know that everyone is probably sick of hearing about Olicity, but that was one of my biggest hates from previous seasons.
I do hope they manage to pull away from that and take Oliver back to how he used to be in earlier seasons, where he didn't always depend on a team to help him. I don't mind Oliver having a sidekick, but a whole squad kinda ruins things a bit for me. I may watch the first few episodes and get a grasp of what they've changed and if I think they'll stick to it, but I'm not holding out much hope for Arrow anymore. I don't even get excited when a new episode comes out either, which is pretty sad because I always used to love getting ready to watch the new episode in earlier seasons. |

I'll be watching this later, but apparently Season 5 is suppose to be a bit darker and grittier than the previous season, and if the writers have had any sense, they'll ditch the Olicity crap for good; that ship has sailed.
I'm currently more optimistic about Season 5 of Arrow than I am Season 3 of Flash, and that's saying something. I'm further more optimistic about Season 2 of Supergirl too, and less Optimistic about Season 2 of Legends. It's all a mad box of Frogs at the moment. |

Compared to the train wreck of last season it was really quite good. Now, whether they will keep that up is another matter.
If anyone is on the fence about watching it, like I was, then go for it, if for no other reason than to decide if you can be bothered to wait for Sky or not. There were a couple of irritating bits, but it had a season one/two vibe and that was so refreshing after season 3/4. |

That archer at the end had a Komodo vibe to him but they already ruined that character in season 3.

There's nothing wrong with Olicity when they don't inject drama for drama's sake. They worked perfectly fine in S1+2 and most of S3 when they were just allowed to be "normal". It was simply to create artificial drama in S4 that they made Felicity behave wholly out of character for her and that just pissed off everyone including fans of the ship! |

I agree, Cadiva. I actually liked Felicity back in the earlier seasons up until they decided to make all the drama around her and Oliver. I do hope they just take a break from putting in all the unnecessary drama, and just take them back to how they were in earlier seasons of the show.
I have read some good stuff about the first episode, so will be checking it out and seeing what happens in the coming episodes. |

Well that wasn't half bad if I'm honest. Much better an opener than Flash. Who saw that coming (Arrow having a better start to the season than Flash). I wish I could say I'm glad Thea is hanging up her bow too, but I know that she wont, and that she'll be back in the team before long.Quote:

I doubt it, I expect Oliver and Felicity to get back together before the show ends, so highly likely to be this year as we're in Season Five, we're finally getting the Bratva and it's the end of the Island/Ollie's previous life flashback timescale.
Rumours going around that they're bringing Laurel back too, and that she's got a multi-show contract. I'm suspecting (at the moment) that she'll be back at the end of this season, likely an alternate timeline version of herself. It stands to reason if she's on Legends (Sara gets to spend time with her throughout ... time), and she can appear in Flash as a multiverse character. Not too sure about Supergirl, but then they've got that four-episode crossover, so maybe in that? Quote:

There can always be a second Komodo. They're seemingly going to go with a second Black Canary, so they're not likely going to go short of (re)using names.

Very good episode. Maybe due to low expectations?
I liked Anarky last season, so it's a shame to see him taken out as a recurring threat. I know he can come back, but the criticism regarding him continually besting 3 of Team Arrow is one that Stephen Amell acknowledged on Facebook, so I'm assuming this was done (and so early in the episode) to make a point. Laurel's final words were changed from the trailer. One thing - SA spent all summer wanking-on about the premier having 'the most brutal fight scene in network TV history'. Where was it? The action was better than it has been in a while, but none really stood out.edit: No John Barrowman in the cast. I know he has that big deal, but at least now they might actually wait until they have a reason to use him before bringing him back. |

Didn't notice no Barrowman, kinda relived tbh, because really, what was the point of MM these last couple of seasons.
