I get that this was Arrow's 100th episode, and that they wanted to do something special and bring back a fair number of characters, but I would have much rather them do this outside of the crossover. The entire episode was practically a dream, and that really does suck. It did have an emotional aspect to it, and it was good to see the entirety of the Queen family (including Laurel) but I just wish it had been under different circumstances.
Deathstroke was (as with the entire crossover) overhyped; just isn't the same character without knowing that Manu is behind the mask. You'd have also thought it they were going to bring back villains for that scene (Deathstroke, Darhk, Merlyn etc, then Ra should have been there too?)
This entire crossover event has been one big joke if I'm honest. They could have really done something astonishing here, but they've failed. Supergirl should have started this whole event off from the episode launch, John should have joined her on Earth 1, same with Superman, Jay, Jessie and Wally should have been more involved too, if these aliens intend on taking out metahumans, then you've got to wonder why supervillains aren't at least trying to save themselves; where's Eobard? Where's Savitar? Where's Prometheus? Where's Constantine?
I know they've only got a certain budget to work with, but they could at least explain absences. I hope Legends make up for what (thus far) has been a poor performance.”
Have to disagree. I think both crossovers I've seen so far have been absolutely perfect for the show they were on. Supergirl kicked things off with a very minor element as expected and teased because her Earth isn't affected by the invasion.
The Flash's main story narrative this season has been about trust, betrayal, a fractured team not firing on all cylinders, and the Invasion episode magnified that the nth degree by having the superhero team all fighting each other.
Arrow, on the other hand, has been following Oliver's continual fight to find his place in the world and how he can marry his past with his present and find a way forward to the future and, again, this episode did that absolutely perfectly.
The Dominators are a DC comic book villain,
there is a series based on them in which the come to Earth and fight against pretty much all the DC superheros so I guess if people weren't aware of that they may have had more expectations of what the TV shows were going to be doing.
For me, so far, I've not seen LoT yet, each episode has worked perfectly within it's parent show's long running story arc.
