That's put paid to any chances he may have had then.

The boy is eighteen. As bad as it was, he's young and people make mistakes and do stupid things when they're young. Is he supposed to live the rest of his life with this hanging over him? Also, as stupid as he was, when I was younger there were many times when I'd be out and the next day thought I was sober enough to drive even after waiting a long period of time. Whether I was or not, who knows, but he's only young.

This. Everyone makes mistakes. Whether he drunk drove, hurt himself, was okay.. Who cares? That was in the past. The real question is does he have talent? And he has it so people who think this will affect him and his career are clearly wrong. Nobody is perfect.

I see nothing here that would harm his chances on the show. He f(*&^ed up, learned from it, and is not planning a repeat. Non story.

Think the fact that he's coming out with this himself probably means he's been put through to the live show

Why do you think so? Others have had misbehaved previously and didn't stop them going on the show. I remember one who it turned out was a drug using bullying shoplifter but they let them on the show.

For god sake the boy is only 18. Sounds like he's learnt his lesson to me.

Who cares? What does it have to do with his singing okay he's a shit driver - nothing to do with a singing competition - in his case it's probably a good thing the contestants get driven around eh!
