I really like Ore - in fact he is a fellow Nigerian.

I badly want him to excel during his Strictly stint but am fearing that his personality may negatively overshadow his dancing, He clearly has a natural sense of rhythm so it would be a shame if Joanne is not able to exploit this to the max and put this ahead of his, somewhat, annoying antics and playing up.

I know we all have our personalities but, as has been said here, there is a very thin line between being self-assured and cocky. For me, he has already well overplayed the "I'm so scared" card when he is clearly streets ahead of several others. He also foolishly stuck his tongue out...in the middle of his Tango!!!! What was that all about? I mean, what happened to his "serious" Tango-face???

C'mon Ore, less annoying schtick and more dance please.

Given how difficult I found it to comprehend the start as mood setting for a Tango, I thought the sticking tongue out, may have been part of the choreograpy. Aliona may have faffed about at the start of Harry's Tango, but it set the scene perfectly. If your're gonna faff - do it well! There also isn't any actual rule being broken in a long lead-in, as a limit has never been set.

I like Ore - based on him presenting the Olympics, I think he just needs to be himself and doesn't have to ham it up for Strictly. He is lively enough as himself.

I honestly think he's acting but why anyone would choose THAT personality I don't know. Is he aware he comes across as a twat?

OP - I agree, Ore could be an excellent dancer, and go a long way in the competition. However, his routine was spoilt for me because it took so long to get going, which is down to Joanne really, and the costuming was awful. Was the sticky out tongue nerves or deliberate? I'm afraid I didn't notice it, because due to the start of the routine I rather switched off from the actual dance bit.

I prefer a more "serious looking" tango too, which is why I disliked Kevin and Kellie's so much last year.

If Ore can continue to dance well, and tone down the personality a bit, I may give him one of my free votes, because I like him. Let's see what this week brings.

I think Jo Clifton is probably in the top two or three ballroom dancers they have had on the show male or female. So I don't understand that routine at all. I agreed with Len's moan on this one. There was too much going on. I think Ore can make it at least to Blackpool.

BIB to be fair, they both had really crap music for a Tango. In fact, I blame that cringeworthy start to Ore & Jo's on the musical intro - just awful

I really hope Jo brings her "A-game" to their ballroom to make the very most of Ore's talents...otherwise, this partnership will be a total waste.

Well, I do think he is so far a great dancer but Joanne's Choreography let him down badly this week I'd say. I want something a little bit more traditional.

I was really turned off by the faffing around and also hadn't taken to Ore as a personality.

I dismissed his dancing completely, barely watched it. When I rewatched it, I realised he was very good. The sticking out tongue was annoying though and I don't think it was part of the routine. It seemed a bit spur of the moment. It tells me he's not putting his heart into the dance though or treating it with respect.

So my head is telling me he is very good. But I'm not won over.

There was a rehearsal clip of the same bit where he looked at the camera in the same way but didn't stick his tongue out, so I think it was a spur of the moment thing. It didn't bother me personally, and I don't think it makes him cocky or arrogant but...it didn't make the dance make any *more* sense than it already didn't.

I like Ore, and I hope Joanne doesn't mess things up for him on the choreography front.

I was prepared to like Ore, as I thought he came across very well presenting the Olympics, but I fear he may have succumbed to the Clifton Factor. Whatever else you say about Joanne (and I am not for a minute disputing her credentials as a ballroom/latin specialist) she is no shrinking violet and her choreography reflects that.

To her credit, she did admit up in the Clauditorium that the faffing about at the beginning was her fault (though she could hardly deny it ) - let's hope she learns her lesson.

With some quieter dances and less frenetic choreography, I hope Ore will shine.

That's just it - when he's in his comfort zone, he is perfectly fine. With Strictly he is really going OTT over the fact that he's now an "alien". I mean we already know shy bang on and on about it?

I didn't know Ore before this but was impressed on the 'pairing' show. He looked like he had great potential and I was really looking forward to seeing him. The faffing was irritating but not his fault, sticking his tongue out though was just silly, childish, pointless and annoying particularly as we had finally got to some serious dancing. I hope he doesn't keep playing up to the camera as that would put me off however good a dancer he is.

Even if we think that Ore is good, it doesn't mean that he knows how good he is. He could genuinely be nervous. The show is completely out of his comfort zone.

I find him pretty irritating and he seems to be taking to the studios promoting himself nearly as much as Ed Balls.

Much to my surprise he was on the Wright Stuff this morning when I switched on, and yet again came across as cocky. Worse, he used the f word when he was talking, and more to my surprise I don't think he even noticed, nor was he corrected! For a BBC presenter that's pretty bad,

I watched the Wright Stuff this morning and I didn't notice either. I'm surprised Matthew didn't pick him up on it as he's normally all over it when people swear (Christine Hamilton said b@llocks yesterday and he apologised about 3 times).

The most interesting thing he said on there was that the bicycle he rode in on had no brakes - he's lucky he didn't end up in the audience.

He came across ok on there I thought, but I think he and Joanne together are a bit too much (a bit like Kellie and Kevin last year). He might come across better with a quieter/calmer pro.

The bit where Christine Hamilton yelped out of nowhere that he kept on groping her thigh was...a little concerning tbh

IMHO this "nervous business" is complete crap to gain sympathy and votes, comes across as a cocky little bugger who hopefully will be knocked out of the competition sooner rather than later

That is a bit harsh as I get that you don't like him and think he is arrogant, and that is you prerogative. However we don't all think like that so please can you all stop talking like it is fact?

It's just the sorry state of our Britishness that means we don't like confidence.
The script has to be:
Mock humble
Self deprecating
Coyness in ability and qualifications
It's a strange cultural trait as so often we say the opposite to what we mean or actually believe in a bid to come across as not showing off. On a show that is intrinsically showing off it is quite refreshing if a contestant just owns it.
