I'd prefer Ronnie killed off. Can't stand her. Since her 2013 return her controlling behaviour has become unbearable. It's ruined her likeability to me and she brings Roxy down.

I really can't see them both dying. I wonder if it could be a fake or presumed death scenario, similar to when Phil and Grant crashed into the River Thames and Grant went missing. I really like Ronnie and Roxy, big shame to lose them both.

but the fake death has been done to 'death' too. I want something original. I don't think they should be killed off but I think they should kill Roxy if they kill one off as she is the weaker sister.

neither should be killed off, its one we'll look back on saying it was a massive mistake, short sighted just like lucy was, that protect bobby storyline ruined so many characters was ridiculous.

I think it's short-sighted to kill off both characters but I'm not too fussed if they end up dying. I'm hoping we get some new exciting characters. I was gutted when the likes of Mel, Tiffany, Lisa, etc left EastEnders but Ronnie's exit won't mean bad news. To me, when they introduced Ronnie in '07, she was Sharon's 'replacement' because they wanted a blonde tragic heroine and she had high-profile storylines. If the producers introduce at least two strong female characters similar to Ronnie/Mel/Lisa/Tiffany/Bianca's personalities and they're characters in their own right, it should be alright.

They haven't consistently worked since the end of 2010. That I think is down to the last 5 years being down to terrible producers who didn't have a clue.
They are definitely tired and worn out characters and even the actresses don't seem as present or as sure of their characters anymore. So I don't mind them leaving. I still didn't know if I wanted them killed off though, but upon thinking hard about it I voted not to kill them in the poll. My only reason for that is the thought that they could come back in 10 years time - fresh, rejuvenated, solid in their new direction and purpose - and I believe that would be better than killing them off. If they do die though I think I'd probably accept it but I just don't know how well it would sit right with me. They were fantastic in 2009 and early 2010. Will just need to wait and see. I do like the idea though of them being in a dangerous storyline resulting in them narrowly evading death at the end, and then just thinking bugger this let's just get away from here and start a new life up Scotland. But not everyone think that they are dead - maybe just the antagonists that need to think that if there are any in the storyline. Either way, it looks like we're in for an exciting Christmas/new year

Either way, it looks like we're in for an exciting Christmas/new year ![]() Roxy amuses me with her stupidity. She works well as a double act - e.g. her and Ronnie, her and Christian and her and Glenda (the latter in 2011). She provides comedy. The biggest mistake for Roxy was getting rid of Glenda when they did in March 2011 - and then Christian ultimately left too! Leaving Roxy with no one. With Ronnie gone, they could of carried on building Roxy's growing relationship with Glenda. Ronnie's leaving would not of mattered as much as mother and daughter had put the past behind them and were getting on fine in early 2011. But Glenda gor blamed for stealing Roxy's money and left. The writers just gave up then bothering with Roxy other than having her nice platonic relationship with Alfie ruined by having her fall in love with him when we knew full well they were never going to be. Ronnie's return in 2013 destroyed any development of Roxy with other characters. Roxy could of worked with others. I didn't see her with Sean but I believe there was more to be explored there? Her exit is such a waste. But the time is right to rest her. I do wonder what purpose killing them both off would ultimately serve other than be a quick headline grabber? When they kill popular characters off it is normally to kick start other stories for those left behind or the character wouldn't realistically leave? Ronnie and Roxy have spent their whole lives upping and leaving, so the latter doesn't apply and I could easily see thrm leaving Walford. It would be in character. As to killing them both off, there will be few left behind to mourn their loss. Jack is the only one I can think of who will be truly impacted by both their deaths. Phil cares to a point but their deaths wouldn't affect his or his family's lives. Surely more stories would be kickstarted by having one die and seeing how the other copes with that loess and then ultimately move away. Personally I think them going on the run would be mostrich true to their characters. Seeing as it has been said that they came together and will leave together, I am inclined to think they will share the same fate - whatever it will be. On a personal level I have always been interested in the backstory of Archie, Glenda and Ronnie and Roxy. Therefore I will be sad if both get killed off because that closes the door on Glenda too! |
