Poor battery life on S7?
I got an S7 yesterday, first full charge last night, I haven't it even properly set up yet, haven't got most of my apps installed yet. I took it of the charger this morning at 8am its now at 50%, 45 mins screen on time with the biggest battery drain being android system 20%.
I have hardly used the phone today as I'm off work, at this rate it'll be dead long before bedtime with me doing nothing. Any ideas? |

Give it a few days. Android system was obviously doing something with your accounts/updates etc. It's likely for it to settle once finished.

I was disappointed with the battery on my S7 Edge, my old iPhone 6 lasted just as long.

I got an S7 Edge a few days ago. First couple of days all fine then battery draining fast. Found out Media Server was at the top of what is using the battery, followed by Android System. Should always be that the screen is at the top.
I had a look online and in my case I seem to have solved it by disabling Chrome and switching to the Samsung browser. Media Server draining the battery is a known bug. Anyway what I can think of in your case is apps that keep trying to synch and update or constant waking of the phone due to a rogue app (sometimes apps go haywire when they get a bad update). If it's a new phone then it might be that your apps are updating etc. and this is only temporary. If the problem persists, do a full reset and reinstall your apps carefully. |
