That pink thing on Nadiya's head, doesn't look like a hijab. Has she become a more moderate muslim since Bake Off or did she think a hijab would increase her chances of winning?

Grayson's hair reminds me of Titty from Swallows and Amazons.

Nope.

Apparently she wears it because she thinks she has bad hair - and because she wants to. Apparently she only began wearing a hijab from the age of about 14 and it was her own choice.

The turban style covering she wears commonly these days is more of a fashion statement than a religious symbol, although she does confirm that she associates the wearing of it - voluntarily - with her religion.

Good to see Grayson's so interested in Hans Christian Andersen; author of The Emperor's New Clothes. Maybe the Turner Prize judges should read it sometime.

Daft Busted.

Not bad although I question whether you can come back after merging with another band.

For all Toksvig's talk about women's rights, she ends up praising arranged marriages on the most popular talk show in the country.

Classic.

Oh, that's right, it was a Muslim woman praising arranged marriages, not one of those evil white, Christian males, so Sandi's happy to compromise her supposed principles in order to fetishize the customs of a minority.

That's cultural relativism for you.

A woman describes how she was ferried off to a foreign country with only her parents beside her to marry a man she'd only met once before but, because she has brown skin and a headscarf, the white Western "feminist" ends up praising the situation.

Frankly, I found the spectacle of them all praising and normalizing arranged marriages, which women and girls around the world suffer through, pretty vomit-inducing.

An anti-men fest tonight culminating in the suggestion from some twit that men should pay extra tax for the crimes that they commit.

He should come on the show dressed as a man and say it as opposed to hiding behind a frock.

Ive never committed a crime. Should I pay this twitting tax you twitting twit?

It made the last 2 episodes, look like GN classics. I'm usually ok with Grayson but sometimes, I wonder if the whole transvestism mullarkey, is just a massive publicity stunt.

For balance, not all arranged marriages are a disaster - and more importantly, they are not all carried out by coercion either. Lots of "arranged" couples end up loving their spouse very much and this has often been the case throughout history and across cultures. It was also the norm in Britain among the aristocracy and those with land and property to consider, up until about 100 years or so ago.

That's not to suggest that arranged marriage is necessarily the best way of doing things... but let's face it an awful lot of people choose their own partner and still end up making an utter hash of it - in some cases several times.

Nobody should ever be FORCED to marry against their will but it's important to make the distinction that not all arranged marriages are involuntary.

Wasn't she lovely. Charasmatic and funny. I'm not sure why she gets so much stick on here.

I didn't mind there being no massive star but that was just boring. None of the guests were at all interesting and didn't interact with each other. Who's idea was having someone from Bake Off on as a massive star? Not impressed

Irrespective of who the guests are, I just find the bit where an extra one comes on later, a bit awkward and odd. You can see the point when a musical act joins them after performing but why not get all 4 on together from the start?

Maybe she had an engagement earlier and couldn't get there for the start of the recording.

It now seems to be an established pattern, there's always a "late" guest.

Well I'm sure a lot of them are busy people and if someone has a tight schedule, so be it.

Lots of chat shows stagger their guests anyway rather than bringing them all on at the start. It's nothing new.

Arranged marriages were pretty much the norm in British society until the end of the 19th century. The idea of the romantic marriage as the perfect union is a relatively recent one. People need to read up on their history a bit more-we did it too!!

I'm not particularly interested in defences of an archaic practice that is routinely exploited to the detriment and misery of women and girls around the world.

Especially when those defences come from supposed champions of oppressed peoples, whose principles are apparently variable depending on who is partaking in or defending the sort of practices they would vociferously condemn under other circumstances.

Indeed
We married within our class or better , love didn't come into it

Nadia is happy in her arranged marriage and I get the impression it was a pretty modern arrangement and that she did really have a 'choice' As it happens , from what she has said in previous interviews as well as tonight, she fancied him immediately and they clicked. All sandi was saying is that, yes, sometimes this happens. You jet someone and ..bam. Arranged or not, she wasn't outwardly praising arranged marriages
