I agree, except I thought that four was too many. I'd have liked more from each of them.

For me Parkinson was pretty bad. He mumbled so I found it hard to understand him, and he would not stop talking.

No, his headstone will say: 'He was Yorkshire (although he didn't like to talk about it'.

But the grave will be in Berkshire.

I was interested in what Parky had to say but kept getting distracted by him wiping the end of his nose with one finger and a couple of times, he started mumbling incoherently at the end of sentences.

Much better than the insufferable egomaniacs (Toksvig, Perry and Hussein) from last week pushing their political and social agendas.”

Heaven forbid anybody should ever have a political or social agenda

I thought Nicole's face looked a lot less severe this time.

It's a light entertainment show. Self-indulgent fanaticism doesn't make for good TV.

He would have been more suited to Newsnight or the Radio 2 Arts Show.”

Parky was interesting enough but too serious for Graham and his appearance didn't quite work

Best episode in a while.

A comedian on the end in French chipping in when necessary. Patel, Kidman and Jones all down to earth. Parky with some interesting stories about Ali.

The singer was dull as dishwater though.

Shame we got another lazy Trump 'gag'. But better than the awful nonsense put out last week.

It's "fanaticism" in YOUR mind. To others it's just a regular and very ordinary sharing of thoughts and ideas.

Most of Graham's opening gags are a bit lazy and crap, whatever the topic, year after year. It would surely be UNPRESIDENTED for him to make an exception with his Trump gags.

He's effectively slagging the people that voted for him. Shows real bitterness after 40 days. I haven't saw any of this series.

Dawn French talking about snogging George Clooney and other guests - that must be the third appearance in a row when she's done that. Talking about her hair - ditto - and her weight - ditto - and the ex-comedy partner, Jennifer Saunders, who wasn't there and wasn't involved in any current project - ditto. And all of that to plug a show that probably ended up on Sky One because the mainstream terrestrial broadcasters passed on it. It summed up how woeful the bookings have been for this series.

And people like Nicole Kidman need to reflect on why so many great stars who passed away this year are so mourned - it's not for their frozen complexions, it's not for their gym sessions or their increasingly gimmicky diets. It's because the likes of Bowie and Prince and Rickman and others concentrated on making the most of their talents. The celebrity culture has become so ridiculously superficial these days it's pathetic. Who on earth really cares about a line on a forehead? She's supposed to be an actor, not a shop window dummy. It's a shame the 'irreverent' Norton indulges such nonsense like the laziest and meekest Heat hack.

I agree it was a good show however I also agree he needs to mix up the guests he has on i.e. to avoid the feeling of 'what, he/she's on AGAIN?!?' and i still kind of feel 3 guests is enough with a singer at the end.

As for Nicole, okay the face has been introduced to one too many needles, however the legs were still looking pretty good

What I'd also like to know is why an entertainment show, supposedly, is even talking about politics.

I think Nicole is quite a sweet woman, seems shy if anything. And it doesn't bother me if she has botox or not she's a decent guest when she's on so meh.

Because the London living liberals like Norton have had such a 'terrible' year. Oh woe is me. They need to tell everyone about it.

2016 has been fantastic, Graham, mate.

Nah, they're pretty fanatical by any objective standards.

Toksvig has recently founded her own political party for women. That's totally casual and ordinary, right?

Grayson Perry has been wearing dresses and discussing sex, sexuality and blurred gender lines for decades. Most artists are pretty fanatical by nature (I know, I've got a couple in my family). They don't generally consider their artwork or the messages within them particularly casually.

And for Nadiya Hussain to have the gall to come on the most popular chat show in the UK and praise arranged marriages, despite their near eradication in this country having been a victory for feminism and gender equality and considering how many women around the world suffer as a result of the practice, you have to be somewhat of a fanatic. That's before we even get on to the practice of her religion.

You can pretend these people are just ordinarily sharing ideas if you like. But I saw a bunch of fanatics promoting their agendas.

According to his autobiography he's interviewed hundreds of celebrities (600 I think). But it's always that same ones that are trotted out: Ali, Emu and Meg Ryan. Although I don't mind seeing the Helen Mirren one.

Fortunately the singer is usually at the end of the show so you can switch off without missing anything. That's something in common with the Jonathan Ross show!

Wow. This thread embodies the terrible state of this country's politics when, if someone has a differing view on something the name-calling begins. 'Fanatics,' 'liberal,' and then the people disagreeing are told to 'grow up.' Such a shame.

I actually do agree about Sandi Toksvig to an extent, who I really like, but sometimes she does get a bit serious for shows like this. Grayson Perry, who I don't really care about either way, well that's his career at the moment isn't it, discussing manliness, so he wouldn't really have had anything to say if they didn't talk about that. As for Nadiya, I thought she was saying how she was lucky that arranged marriage has worked for her, but that she wanted her kids to find their own way. (Just watched it back again and she said she wouldn't do the arranged marriage thing for her kids, it was Sandi, Graham and Grayson who were somewhat jokingly saying what a good idea it seemed.) So Malliday, you are completely basing your bias against her on something else, and your last sentence in the paragraph about her gives away what that is, I fear.

The fashion for first name terms of people you don't know. It's a bit like teenagers in decades gone by sticking pages from Smash Hits up on their wall. But it wrecks the chance of a grown-up discussion.
