Have to say I have actually enjoyed the last few episodes. That comes after rubbishing episode after episode, almost to the point of deciding enough was enough.

Other than the unrealistic Alya blackmail story I can't think of too many negatives. Even the odd funny moment has crept back in.

Hopefully, this isn't a false dawn.

If the nonsensical episodes keep getting churned out it's on it's way back to oblivion.

Still a load of bull at the moment. But it's far more watchable than ED at the moment. I never thought i would say that.

I have actually really enjoyed Cathy's story-line. Nice to see someone different take on a lead role for a small while. Melanie Hill has proven she can hog the limelight for a bit. I hope Kate continues to give her more story-lines.

I think it's gradually improving, character interaction is much better and the humour is less slapstick. The storylines are really letting it down but I have a feeling they will get better.

Excited for the big stunt I must say

It's not utter tedium like it was a few months back but it's around 4.5 out of 10 on average for me.

I think when the Barlows return will be the real start of Kate'/ reign for me and the first sure sign if she's going to be good for the show.

I thought this thread was going to be about the drama series 'The Street' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Street_(UK_TV_series)

As for Corrie, I've yet to see yesterday's episode, but from watching Monday's I think it is gradually improving, but for me, it can only improve so much because there is a 'glass celling' in a way, meaning that if the show doesn't have a MASSIVE overhaul and drag itself out of the 90s and into the 21st century, then it can't truly be good again. The show's a bit of a joke now to be honest, I'd actually go as far as to say it is the most unrealistic soap on TV. Shame.

Yes Corrie has been good lately and Emmerdale is falling apart.

We need Kate Oates back in the Dales ASAP!

I think Emmerdale is still the better of the two ITV Soaps. I think it has a good balance of drama and 'lighter' stuff. I don't find the comedy 'cringeworthy' or forced either, I find it quite a natural, sarcastic type humour, I'm enjoying it personally

Balanced? I think yesterday was the first episode in over a week that had something other than comedy. They've had 3 costume parties in the last 2 months and are featuring the comedy character way too much

But the difference is, I actually like the comedy elements, and yes it is balanced because there's drama going on with Kerry (It may be a crap storyline, but it's still drama) mixed in with the humour and day to day stuff That's just my opinion though, I can understand where you're coming from, but I don't agree

I think the comedy has been bad, they had two of the shows strongest actors trying to steal a dog from a playground and cowering from a dog who had a giant smile on its face. That was one of the worst scenes I've ever seen on a soap.
