Enjoying Eastenders
Having only got back into the show in the last month or so, I'm loving the day to day, 'kitchen sink' drama (I believe the term is) There may not be many 'big' storylines, but to me it seems the most 'real' out of all the soaps at the moment. The character interactions at the market etc feel natural and everything has a nice flow to it. Hope the show stays like this, looking forward to what's to come

Hi Ben,
Glad you are enjoying it, and indeed one of the positives of SOC is that he seems to have sorted out some of the problems with the writing of the show, the problem being that just as characters are becoming interesting again a lot of them are about to disappear as they have been given the boot. Yet to be convinced about SOC, I just hope he is able to hold true to the faith that some DS'ers seem to be putting in him.

It's massively improved ever since those poor weeks with ben's revenge, grant's return and the whole "let's not tell mark jr who his dad is"

I'm liking the day to day stuff especially. Pam's talk with William was a nice scene

It is a great thing that Sonia left. Attempting to push her to the forefront of the show was a dreadful mistake as the majority of viewers seem to hate her.

![]() Not sure about the most real but the characters have been interacting better the last week or so. I wish they would stop the Donna screeching at someone in the market scenes tho. |

Awful I'm afraid. One of the lowest points I've ever seen the show at.

I am actually enjoying the show at the moment. The characters now feel "human" and although nothing big is happening, the show keeps you engaged and have you wanting more. This is how I remember it as a child in the 1990s - simple "kitchen sink" drama.
The ending tonight was very poignant - an old lady being cast aside for the modern day world of targets and life in the Square carrying on as normal. This is back to basics stuff. If this SoC's vision, he's saving the show not ruining it. |

Brilliant episode tonight, so lovely to see Dot properly and it was great to see Martin and Stacey get their house. The duff duff was great too, not dramatic at all, but very poignant and leaves you with something to think about, so Dot probably not what the owners are wanting for the dry cleaners.
From another thread, I'm sure bass(?) said that the viewing figures went up last week which is a step in the positive direction. |
