I loved Dot's scenes. The new producer's work is really showing on screen, in a good way.

That was classic old-school EastEnders. I thought it was a really compelling scene.

Lovely scenes with Dot.
This shift in tone has been rather dramatic. |

Just said this myself loved Dots interview and loved bingate, loved the scenes with Les and Linda last week and loved Kim and the parking ticket. Great interaction with the characters goes to show you don't need sensationalism all the tim

This is the most interested I've been in the show in years.
The pace has slowed, definitely, however, the show is all the more better for it. Tonight's doof-doof was quiet but it worked incredibly well. Dot's monologue was exquisite. |

I just think it was signifying the end of Dot's time in the launderette and not necessarily her time on the show , I can't ever see June leaving unless for some unforseen reason that may force her to do so

It definatly felt like Dot exiting. I was thinking she might drop when she walked out. It definatly feels like this could be her exit storyline. However since June doesn't want to retire she make become a guest character every so often until she will unfortunatly die. I can't see June/Dot being around for another full year... especially as a regular character.

It was boring and has not made me excited in any way shape or form for the next episode.
If this is the new producers 'Vision', I don't think I will like it. |

I can't imagine people thinking that they simply must tune into tomorrow to see if Dot makes it home from the launderette without getting kidnapped. Please can we have something to actually interest us Mr Producer. |

The problem with this forum is there are people who like Sensationalism and people who like Realism so there will always be people who dislike the show.

I loved it. It was different
and I think Dot's speech was very honest and real. It made me think. We don't sit down for a chat and a cup of tea anymore. Not like the old days. We are always on the go. I also think it ran true to how irrelevant the Laundrette has become which breaks my heart as the laundrette was one of the centrepieces of EE once upon a time, |

Didn't expect that ending. Something very human about these recent EE episodes. Dot's interview with that smarmy woman from HR was such a wonderful scene. I love how personal she got, setting her straight. It felt like a commentary about how society changing so rapidly, and the warmth of it is seemingly disappearing (the stuff about having a 5 minute chat, etc).
Felt it tugging at the heart strings as the camera zoomed out as she lit a cigarette. Loved that Dot was focused on. June Brown is so terrific. |

Storylines need foundation, that's what we are getting right now. Yes the stories might be tame but that doesn't mean that the pace won't build up.
Dots chat with the HR woman was one of the most interesting thing to happen this year. I'd like more scenes like this please. |

Beautiful scene, and a very bold 'statement of intent' from the new producer. It seemed to me that through Dot's words he was trying to convey the message that, for all the 'running around' and overly busy scenes of the last few years, there is still a lot to be said for simple conversations and offering comfort to characters.
There were so many lovely scenes in this episode: Pam with Janet and the hug, Stacey with Martin and 'the stairs', Lee with Johnny and the CV, Vincent with Kim and the theory book, all showing the deep love and affection these characters are capable of. And then to have this wonderful scene at the end of Dot musing on the changing times... just simple and effective storytelling. Brilliant stuff. |

There are also people who like a mix of both like myself, I love the realism of it all lately but there's not much going on.

A very poignant ending - I hope it's not the end of Dot.
For Dot is a true EE Legend. |

I wonder if they'll have the whole of Walford protesting if Dot doesn't get the job.
