My Honor 7 (used on EE contract) has the outgoing international roaming bar on in call settings. If I try to switch it off it asks me for a mystery PIN.

I'm b*ggered if I know what this PIN is - I'm not even sure if it's an EE imposed PIN, or a phone imposed PIN.

Anyone got any ideas?

If it's one of those menus buried under "more settings" which takes a while to load then it's an EE setting. Contact customer service - it's likely a bar on your account. Unless you can make international calls when using the sim in another handset.

Yes, it is buried under 'additional settings' and does take a while to load, so I I think you're right and it's more likely to be EE. I can make international calls from the UK, but I think it will bar outgoing calls when roaming.

Oh god, I'm going to have to try to get EE to sort it....

Update on this issue, after many phone calls and being bounced from EE to Samsung I finally have this issue sorted. My final call was to EE and the tech support passed me to higher level (4?) tech who made a change on the network side hich had international calls barred even though roaming and everything else was set up on the contract side. Resart and International Call Carring was disabled without having to enter the password.

Thanks - I found that earlier and I've now been on 'live chat' for half an hour. 20 minutes waiting for someone to come online, and the last ten being told roaming is set up fine. Why does this feel like a saga just beginning?

It's times like this (and only this!) when I miss Vodafone. Roaming worked every time, without fail, with no buggering about.

Roaming has always worked perfectly for me, as one2one, T-Mobile, and now EE so it's not a usual problem.

You might be better off phoning them or even emailing the exec office for help (mention you have already tried to get it resolved via chat) as chat isn't really set up for technical issues in my experience.

It used to work for me before I migrated from T-Mobile. EE does seem to generally be a bit sh*t when it comes to roaming. Forums are full of people having problems, although I'd estimate 50% of them failed to set up roaming before going away.

You're not wrong there. An hour and a half of chat, a couple of 'settings' texts and re-boots, and the (broken) promise of a call back from tech later in the day and the outgoing call bar is still in place. Useless.
