I suspect if she dances next week it will be the end of Anastacia in the competition. Either that or if she takes a bye the following week.

However, I suspect they hope she does not withdraw this early in the competition as it really screws their plans.

A few things as I have not been on since stupid oclock this morning...

1. Very sorry if unwittingly I jeopardised this thread as it was my quote from on here that someone said came up as a third hit if you put in Anastacia and injured into Google.
I never discuss the spoiler anywhere online and only did so here as I thought it was a safe thread for discussion. I have no idea how bots or google hits work so can onlz apologise to whoever was upset. Next week I will just say thanks on here without commenting further!

2. People getting upset about diagnosis of injury I can understand but am sure hernia came up as she had had one two years ago I thought, had to cancel gigs because of it.
I think she is a lovely lady and am gutted by any backlash.

3. That said it would have been better to save them both BUT have them OFF the phone list next Saturday and instead as definite dance offs along with a third contestant for a triple dance off double elimination special!
If Anastacia had to withdraw this week then it would revert to Melv and one other and a normal elimination where he was a cert for DO irrespective of routine along with the lowest polling contestant after the vote which would have excluded Melvin.
Sounds complicated but really isn't.

4. Backstage one I believe is a reputable source. Plus others said they were kept waiting 50 minutes and thought there had been a meltdown back stage. It is all a great shame and could have been avoided with a bye in the first place.
They do believe A to be an A/lister and she was announced last last night as well as Craigs dubious 8 week one. I did wonder whether he is thirsty for her to do the tour no matter where placed.
also wonder how it reflects on Brendan for next year....the reason Anton is renewed is his huge fanbase as well as ballroom proficiency. But once your fanbase stop voting for you as a pro, are your days numbered. I can only think they thought #fab were safe and chucked votes to Ed and to Pash instead.

This IS the place to discuss the spoiler so don't stop - and if someone goes to the lengths of Googling things like that it is just unfortunate.

Other sites pick the result up from this thread and post the result on their sites - some are more discreet than others.

Re point 1. I was the FM who was annoyed the result was on Google front page having been plucked from this thread. But I was not criticising you at all!!!!!!! It was flaming Google I was annoyed about. Any number of posts from this thread - INCLUDING MINE - could have been reported on Google front page with the same result.

So I hope this clears that up.

Re point 3. Excellent idea. Three in the DO next week, 2 to go. Makes more sense than what has happened. And if in the meantime Anastacia has had to withdraw from the competition through injury, it could have all reverted to normal.

We all know how google is and if someone was searching re Anastacia and the situation on Saturday, then it is not impossible that google would pick up words from here and show them. Nothing we can do about that.

And, as Scarlotti has said, it was far worse on Twitter - I counted at least 4 posters who openly spoke about the result and the fact that there was no dance off.

Yeah sadly they're still plastering the result publicly all over the Strictly hashtags. Sadly I can't do much about it like I could last year as they are no longer copying and pasting directly from my site
