I'd be very surprised if Anastasia continues. A tissue tear can take weeks to repair and continuing to train must surely risk making it worse.

I think this was a bit of a cop out. They should have let them both continue and had a double elimination next week.

If I was the producers I'd give her a Waltz/Foxtrot for a couple of weeks that are relatively non taxing and she how she does. I feel really sorry for her as its not her fault for all this, she just wanted to do the show and dance to the best of her ability. Very brave lady to continue and hope she can pick herself up and carry on

Melvin was not exactly Fred Astaire but it's a little hard that he is leaving in this situation. I think SCD have got themselves in a pickle. I do think Anastacia should have withdrawn.

Where do we go now? She won't be able to do much in the way of dancing so are we just all going to vote for her because of her health?

I feel for Anastasia, this isn't like pulling a muscle. It must just be another reminder of what she's been through. There's no way she could dance and others have got a bye in the past.

It'll be interesting if this is her only bye or if they will give her next week off if she needs it - but it sounds like this could reoccur. Can she afford to put her scars through three months of wear and tear.

Also if she does dance next week and ends up back in the dance off, they probably wouldn't be able to do this again.

Well as she sort of had a bye last night then taking another one next week is decidedly unfair. As she was in the bottom 2 she hasn't (yet) got the public on her side so skipping another dance off won't go down too well with them/us.

She should have ballroom next week, so maybe a nice gentle waltz! That should give her some time to recover.

I cant believe the attitude towards Anastacia on here by some people such as accusing her of Fake Tears. Almost beyond belief.

She might be OK with ballroom next week but I agree, long term she could struggle, especially given the location of the injury.

As for tonight's result, not surprised at all it was Melvin. I thought he would be first out. Obviously didn't foresee under what circumstances though. Tbh he was the only one I wasn't really fussed about seeing dance again. Seems like a lovely guy though and it was a tricky situation for him as well.

Me, too. I wikied her earlier, to find out more, but her music got me through a rather difficult divorce back in the day, so I have some knowledge of her own battle with Crohns, then breast cancer.

But Wiki goes into detail about her cancer coming back, and the work she does for women and breast cancer awareness, and quite frankly, she's one ballsy woman. I admire her, and whatever decision the Beeb made, it was going to invoke a negative reaction from some. But it was the Beeb's decision, not Anastacia's, so the vitriol aimed at her is unwarranted. Whether she continues is up to her, and no-one else. She hasn't made any decisions yet.

I don't like to be confrontational on here, but seriously, the attitude of some folk on here is just awful. In the greater scheme of things, is anyone's week totally ruined because of this? And if it is, please, please, get a better sense of perspective. It's a dance entertainment show, not life or death.

They should have let the judges vote on the original dances. That would have given them a tactful way of eliminating someone who is unfit to continue, and allowed Melvin to stay another week. That's as nice as I'm going to be this season.
