Even if you think a company has done wrong, that's why we have courts, including accessible small claims with no risks of having to pay a company's defence costs where a claim is brought in good faith. It's all part of living in a civilised society vs a barbaric and violent society where it's socially and morally not ok for people to take the law into their own hands.

Violent vigilante actions are usually the preserve of poorer and poorly educated people in less developed counties where there is frequent violence, this isn't how most people want to live in a civilised society.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with the criminal acts of the guy in the video...
I can feel sympathy for some companies having their stores trashed... not with Apple however.

None of us can be currently sure of why he did it, a lot of us can enjoy the spectacle

Well if you think the courts are fair thats up to you. In general though whoever has the most money wins.

Then there is the length of time these things take to come to court. In the meamtime apple still has this guy's money and he has no mobile phone.

Not in small claims, it's simply down to very strong consumer laws weighted in the consumer's favour typically, the length of time can be as quick as 3 weeks if the claim isn't defended and 3-6 months if it is, but the claimant would then get the money claimed plus interest at 8%!

If you're dissatisfied with a company you can then choose never to use them again and tell all your friends. I fail to see why it is necessary to resort to criminal behaviour, get yourself a criminal record, locked in a police cell, have to pay additional fines etc, that's just stupidity.

Careful mate you'll be branded a troll soon. Always a good fall back that one. I mean it's fine for other people to be hypothetical about plumbers but if i tell a real case study about a trade it is out of order somehow.

Apples character lack there of good is material to the case.

They have used plenty of changers in the past holding it wrong, putting the phone in your pocket is incorrect use. Who knows what sort of nonsense they might have told this guy to avoid respecting his consumer rights.

I hope we hear the rest of this story.

That doesn't resolve the issue that you've still lost your money. You might tell your friend and they could never believe that apple did anything wrong.

So the law only applies to people and companies you like?

Apple have always offered me the best customer service, so I don't get why so many people are jumping to defend this guy and claim that Apple are the 'big naughty giants trying to screw him over'.

I've had entire phones replaced for tiny minor faults with no questions asked, even out of warranty by Apple.

This guy obviously must have done something extreme to not warrant a refund. And let's be honest, he probably has done, because who the hell goes round smashing up a whole shop when they can't get a refund??

We need to see what his complaint was, but whatever it was it never justifies criminal behavior, otherwise if that kind of thing becomes widely socially acceptable then we don't live in a civilized society and deserve to live like some less educated and very violent areas.

Wow. I thought the thread title was just satire until I read the posts

Poor guy, having to resort to thousands of pounds worth of criminal damage because he didn't get his way. /s

I'm no Apple fanboy (well, an ex Apple fanboy) but am not sure in what world this is an acceptable response to, well, anything.

Disgusting. I hate seeing things like that. Such behaviour should be punished severely. Videos should always be landscape, it's not hard!
