How do Kodi streamers fund their free streams?

Please don't post any illegal links to pirate streams!

I don't get this about Kodi.... How do streamers of illegal streams available on many Kodi add ins fund their streams? Since on Kodi there are no adverts, and often the streams are not even provided by the developer of the add in, just linked to?

Streaming live TV or on demand material is not free - quite significant costs hosting, of storage and bandwidth, plus liability of doing something illegal, and that most web hosts will not permit you to host pirate streams. If they were just streaming for their friends, or to show off, then it would probably be restricted just to them, not thousands of streamers.

So, I don't get it? What is the business model? Or how is this funded?

Thanks for any replies.

They are hosted on web-lockers like uploaded etc which make money from premium subscriptions and advertising.
The money comes from non kodi viewing hence some sites blocking their streams sometimes from kodi.

For your link to stay active the uploader has to have a premium account which costs a sub of say a tenner a month.

The downloader is also encouraged to buy premium in exchange for faster downloads, no adverts and waiting periods between downloads.

The uploader makes money by the hoster giving them small kickback from any premium subs their links directly sell. Ie. Person X gives Person Y a link for a TV show. Person Y click that link and take out a premium membership. Person X gets a small payment for that referral.
