Suprise Singles and albums.
Do you think the novelty of surprise Singles and Albums is now wearing off?
I am not a fan of them my self and whilst it was a good way to spark mass sales I don't think they are having the same impact as they once did? what are you views? |

What I have noticed, and there is probably no relation whatsoever, when an album or single has been released recently, they do seem have a much higher quality album in compared to gradually releasing. Take the likes of Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Azealia Banks, David Bowie and Rihanna (just a list, not comparing quality) and they have all released critically acclaimed albums or have released albums which are more cohesive and has been acclaimed in comparison with their past discography. It might just be a thing to get critical acclaim nowadays I don't know but i think it's very coincidental.
I personally like surprise releases as it has made music more exciting as it doesn't follow the same formulaic structure of releasing and drip feeding the public the music. |
