To repair or replace Humax 9300t

I've had a Humax PVR9300T since the digital switchover. It's been largely reliable but I had to replace the hard drive around 3 years ago,now looks like the replacement is starting to fail.Recordings keeping getting out of sync so the audio runs a few seconds behind the video of it skips chunks.Sometimes pressing pause and restarting fixes the fault. As there's no way that I way that I can see to defragment or check the discs for errors I can't think of any other way to sort this.

There is a dedicated forum for humax.

If you have already placed the HDD, why not repeat this?
Otherwise humax offer various refurbished units if you don't want to spend too much.

None of the current models got me excited so I ended up spending £18 on a new 320gb hard drive.Took 10 minutes to replace also undertook a factory reset.Wonder how much it would cost if I'd taken it to a repair shop?

While you have the cover over did you have a look at the power supply capacitors? If one or more of those fails or is failing it can knock the output voltages out of whack and cause random issues.

I did have a look at all of the electrolitics and they all looked normall,no bulges and no oozing.
