I don't think that is the problem at all.

Some comments can't have proof and are made with ill intention.

Of all the people on the show Naga is possibly in my top 10 at most of the people I want to see continue on the show.

However, I have never been one to talk rubbish about a contestant in order to promote someone I do want to see progress.

Not everyone else seems able to do that.

As such to no one in particular, can I say I am sorry that some woman dumped you from a great height and that they preferred a career ( and /or golf) rather than staying married to you, never even getting to 10 years. I am even more sorry they left you with the cats.

Hyperthetically speaking so to speak.

You know isnt it amazing that Naga never mentioned her age, cats, childlessness or golf.

Perhaps you know she forgot it was all about her.”

Doesn't mention golf?

She never stops bangin' on about. In this week's Mail telly mag, she mentions her cats, trumpet, piano and whatever, (that's where I read it) and says she plays golf five times a week. Now that's really obsessive for someone with a full-time job..

Hey!

Ain't this thread fun?

Well it all kicked off because I posted this making no reference to anyone on this forum.

We've no idea what it's all about.

Of course we only see their "telly face," but from personal observation, she seems like the one "who probably wears the trousers," in her personal relationships,
I was actually surprised she's been married for ten years. She's 41 and has no kids, just two cats. It always seems to be about, "her."

I find there's nothing "personable" about her. I've never really taken to her.
Maybe Pasha said the wrong thing?

It wasn't a condemnation, it was an observation. Too strong for some on here, but then not unknown for DS.

Nothing anyone else has said will change my mind and I see I'm not on my own.

Obsessive?
No more obsessive than being mean on an anonymous forum about a perfectly pleasant woman.
But maybe being obsessive about golf is healthier

Doesn't she have the afternoons off to enjoy her golf . Good for her . Nothing healthier then playing and walking round an 18 hole golf course .

Ironically... I remember a flurry of PM's from OP where we were discussing another thread which turned awfully nasty... And they were trying to convince me they had other worthwhile pursuits than trolling on DS including... "Playing golf three times a week" (weather permitting)... #justsaying

I don't understand why a passionate interest in a hobby/pastime/interest should be seen as obsessive. What the hell is wrong with devoting your own time to something that feeds your body and/or soul?

What's even more puzzling - and do forgive me if I'm mistaken - is that I seem to recall that the main protagonist on this thread has a passion (maybe even an obsession) with jukeboxes and 1950's music?

Perhaps I'm thinking of someone else.

Nope... That too. And the golf.

I know you mean me.

I should worry, shame I haven't found you as interesting.

I can talk electric pianos and saxophones too if you like.

For your information I play golf three times a week, (weather permitting, if it's raining I don't bother there's always another day).
Now a round of golf usually takes at least three and a half hours, sometimes longer if the course is busy. Then there's getting there, playing, showering and changing afterwards, possibly a meal and getting home, so you could be talking five hours altogether.

I think three times a week is enough for me, as it is for most of my friends. My wife says it gives her time to get some housework done..(Ooo! that'll upset somebody).

But the difference is I don't have to work for a living. Playing three times a week if you're working might be considered being obsessive.

Your turn now.

Good game this, isn't it?

She can well afford it, no kids to spend her money on, hubby earns his own money,
No doubt she may well send money back over to her family

You may be right, but it confirms my view that she is "driven."

I know we all have our own opinions on things and fully understand that we should continue to do so. But I just found that some comments (I'm not saying yours in particular) along the way have caused a little upset and then it just seemed to get a tad naughty. DS sometimes make some of us feel the need to get on our soapboxes. Again a generalisation nothing personal. It is a shame when that happens in some threads.
Perhaps Naga feels more comfortable talking about herself than including her husband and family life. She (they) may like to keep a distance from her TV life. Quite a few 'famous' people do.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I much prefer the friendly posts we have on here than some that have lately been the norm.
Again please don't feel I'm directing this at you. I have only posted this in response to your one earlier.

Oh dear.
I played golf 4 times this week.
When I should have been doing the housework.

It's no problem.

It's a message board. It amuses me that some take observations about people on TV personally, as if it were an affront to them.

They feel they have to "protect" them. As if these highly paid people need protecting from comments on a not that well supported message board.

Check the threads, I never start in on someone, but I reserve the right to respond if they have a go at me.

Well?

What was wrong with doing it on the other three days?
Get yourself organised like Naga.
She probably does hers when she gets home.
Stop apologising.

Mark Twain, but he couldn't play.

Sometimes, comments are made and opinions are aired precisely to stir up a response. Another generalisation.

So.... Your general observation that any women over a certain age with no children seem "self-centered" was not about women with no kids in general and just about CELEBRITIES...was it? No. Didn't think so..

You are (in my opinion and this is just a general observation) a stirrer. You feel superior to the people you "engage" with... And I use the word sparingly because actually there is no engagement, just you hurling insults from behind your keyboard, hero that you are.

Your comment about your "general observation" may be your opinion and quite aside from any challenges I have faced, I found that comment truly offensive in particular when I consider a set of close friends in one tragic situation,

I would try and explain it to you but in the conversations I have had with you in the past where you seemed utterly desperate to prove you have an interesting life, I just came away feeling actually a little sad for you that you felt you needed to impress some total stranger on a forum.

Right about now you will probably tell me that you have no interest in my life, but several DMs with a load of links showing who knows what about your musical interests (sorry I was far too busy to indulge your ego trip) suggests (to me anyway) otherwise.

To quote you... I think that says more about you than it does about anyone else.

Of course you won't actually care at all... The fact that you stirred up feelings of utter grief for a friend taken far too soon from us, will probably amuse you. You would probably find a way to justify yourself, which would, under the circumstances, be far too sickening.

But to quote someone else I would describe as driven "when they go low, we go high,"

Farewell Doghouse. A more apt forum name, there never was. I would love to say it was fun. Actually, no. I wouldn't.

Oh, you've had a DM about his juke box as well.

Mine was a couple of years ago.

Seems almost as obsessed by it as Naga does with golf.
