I don't know what it is with me and these cables, but I seem to need loads. I have a set by the bed for micro USB and Lightning, I need 2 micro USB's as I often charge multiple devices at the same time like bluetooth speakers, headphones etc. I have one in the living room and I like to have one set of each permanently packed in a bag as I stay away every week some days for work and they are always in the bag that way.

As you can imagine because of the above I've bought quite a few official and aftermarket cables. I bought an Anker braided 1.8M micro USB which is nice, time will tell how long it lasts as the last 1.8m braided one wore over time and stopped charging efficiently (a no name brand, not Anker). I bought a 'Juice' lightning cable recently for the iPad and it seems remarkably identical in every way to the official Apple cable, and looks like it will last well. I've noticed a lot of the cheap ones can't handle the current, wear out or don't fit the socket well and fall out.

Which ones do you find to be the best?
Which brands do you recommend people to buy?
Do you ever buy the really really cheap ebay £1.29 ones and what do you think of them?
Do you only stick with the official ones?

I've got about 5 microUSB cables and 3 Lightning cables, the microUSB are all OEM cables, (HTC, Sony, Asus, Samsung and Nokia from memory) and the Lightning are 2 stock cables and a Philips (there's a Philips microUSB well) that came with a 5 port Philips adapter. Upstairs is an Anker 1.8m Lightning and a stock Apple cable and another HTC and Samsung microUSB cable.

Other than the Philips 5 port block, I have an iPad and iPhone adapter, a Samsung quick charge adapter, another normal Samsung adapter, a Nokia adapter and an Asus adapter while upstairs I have 3 iPad adapters, an iPhone adapter, an HTC adapter and the Nokia adapter iirc.

The cheap leads seem to work well, but always seem to stop working after a while so I'm sticking to originals where I can.

A mixture of Nokia ones I've acquired over the years with phones various and Anker. I've not had any of the Nokia ones fail, actually. I just keep adding more charge points in more locations. One in each tractor with 2 USB cables, so there's 8 cables to start. All over the house. Works Land Rover, my car. I must own upward of 40. I've bought about 15 of those Anker Micro USB to USB C converters to get me around having USB C on my new phone, so each charge point now has one Micro USB and one Type C port, one for each phone I carry (Xperia Ultra).

Anker all the way for me - I have numerous micro USB cables dotted around, and up to 6 attached to one of their Powerport thingies. They seem to get the balance bwteen cost and quality about right, especially with cable multi-packs, and their customer service is bullet-proof in my experience.

Anker cables for me too, and their multiport chargers, and power bank batteries for that matter.

Been using their gear for years now, and wouldn't use anything else.

+1 for the multi port chargers and power banks. Got an Astro E7 26000mAh power bank and a 5 port charger. The latter is charging 2 phones and my AirCard as I type.

AmazonBasics Lightning cables I find to be the best.

For MicroUSB, I find in time they eventually all get bent - probably my fault - but Anker cables seem to be quite good.

USB-C cables I find to be very strong. Anker again I use for those.

I'd rather just buy the Anker for a similar price...
