He is currently the best dancer, no doubt about that. Oti must be absolutely thrilled to have him as her partner after her all too brief pairing with Anthony Ogogo last year. It is still early days however. He isn't the only good dancer, and it doesn't mean that he cannot be overtaken in time. Then there are the unpredictabilities to factor in. The best dancer in the series does not always make it to the final (Pixie Lott?)

I hope that he does not have to endure the vitriol that is traditionally hurled at 'ringers' in these forums, although it tends to be women who are targeted the most. I wonder why that should be?

(Was Jay getting the "hot" vote? I'd think after his first cha cha cha in the horrid brown suit and the poodle locks he'd have been getting the pity vote.)

I don't see a comparison to Jay, as he had the reality show golden combination of nerves/humbleness/self-doubt + non-show-offy talent. Danny is probably putting a lot of people off with his obvious ringer status, his soap opera good looks, and his perceived lack of personality.

I think it will be a good race between him and some of the more fun, "journey" contestants.

I must say that I never really take notice of the previous dance experience of contestants. I have supported obvious 'ringers' e.g. Natalie and disliked others e.g. DVO but with the latter it was just her personality and partnership with James ( who I disliked).

Danny, so far, has not offended me (yes, I'm sure he'll be gratified to know this). I don't think his winning is a foregone conclusion though. I doubt he'll attract the rather inexplicable (in my opinion) following of Jay or Louis but he doesn't seem as if he'll annoy too much (yes Mark Wright, I am thinking of you).

I do think there are a few others who have the ability and personality to grow on viewers. I think Louise is going to be really good for example but may come across as too bland.

All in all though, this is looking like a very good series.

You can see why Oti went nuts when she was paired with him. Pretty much a shoe-in for the final, and I'd say she knew that already having seen him when they rehearsed the launch show group dance.

Yeah I don't see Danny as getting the Jay vote. Jays vote came from lots of diff folks (dance fans, Ali fans, Wanted fans, journey fans (shy to confident) as well as what was dubbed the woobie vote. (No way will Danny mop up a single woobie vote) And Jay was definitely not getting the hot guy vote (that was Gleb 😜 )I didn't find Jay attractive at all until the Paso when he sorted out his hair.

I agree about Danny not having the win in the bag. We've never had such an obvious Ringer Guy before (i.e. Performance background and acting skills as well as dance ability and confidence) he's the equivalent of a male DVO or Natalie Gumede, so I'm very interested to see if the public really don't care when it's a bloke with the full package of skills or if he'll end up with the same fate (runner up to a journey contestant)

He's great and I love watching him and couldn't care less if he's danced before. He is a joy and long may he reign!

So far his three years dance training at Arts Ed is paying off nicely. He should quit talking about the struggle he's having with the dances though, and some of what he says makes me cringe. Saying you can't blag something suggests you would if you could.

He's by quite a way the best dancer and looks amazing paired with Oti, they are a great match, but as always it's about much more than how you dance it. There are a lot of good partnerships this year and some other good dancers.

I have a relative and a former pupil in Holyoaks and when cast announced asked them about Danny as I don't watch the show - they said he is a really nice guy and a good dancer, one of them said he can sometimes come across as a bit cocky and sure of himself but he isn't like that at all - I hope he does not come across that way on the show in the weeks to come - think he is a good addition

Well she should be with all the training she has had in the past. Good luck to her. I find her a bit bland.

Arts Ed is very good for dance training. I've done shows with some of their ex-students and they were great dancers.

No wonder he can dance. Shame he has no personality, but I am very happy that Oti has a great partner so that she can shine!

Yes...the judges will no doubt try their best to build up others like Louise, Will & Daisy as contenders but already it would be a surprise if he doesn't coast to the final at least.

I think Louise will struggle in the cha cha, salsa and samba. Don't think she'll be great at those. Maybe wrong who knows

He's a great mover and very easy on the eye - what's not to like.
Got all 3 of my votes last night

He's a great dancer, but I'd put him joint top with Louise.

Having said that, I still voted for Daisy who I just enjoyed watching more (and I think she has further to go to improve which I like to see).

I thought that as well. Her OTT reaction made me suspicious. Googling proved he not only went to very prestigious ArtsEd but spent 4 years at 8 shows a week performing in WIcked.

Quite frankly, there is no way he doesn't have the ability to dance. Do I mind? I'd rather see someone like Greg or even Ore go on to improve and dazzle us later on....

I haven't seen Wicked, but someone on here said that Wicked doesn't have a lot of dancing, IIRC.

Apparently he was only understudying a minor role in Wicked for 2 years, but clearly still a triple threat.

This is my issue - I'm so pleased Oti has someone great but Danny has all the appeal of beige woodchip and I just couldn't care less if he stayed in or not.

There are plenty of candidates for the journey role Ore, Greg, Judge Rinder, Claudia perhaps even Daisy. Its really early days to be crowning a champion just yet. No one has yet had a really standout dance loved by both public and judges.
