Who'd have thought a (mostly) positive thread about Mr Balls. I also find him quite endearing (wouldn't go so far as to say 'hot') and gave him a vote.

I agree. I didn't like Ed as a politician but he's coming over well in Strictly. He was hugely entertaining tonight and Craig was awful to him. So he got my vote.

I voted for Ed, for Greg and for Judge.
I have a lot of respect for the people who go on this show, not afraid to look foolish and give it their all. Those like Danny Mac and Louise Redknapp know they can move, know they are in with a chance and won't get booted out out on the first few weeks. They wouldn't agree to take part if they thought they might make idiots of themselves, which is great for the show - you get to see a good standard of dancing, but there's no sense of a journey. |

. Ed worked hard on that routine, but as usual with the ones who aren't teachers' pets he was dressed appallingly badly for his shape and that REALLY didn't help the over all look .

I have always had a bit of a weird crush on Ed Balls, glad to see I am not completely crazy!
He does have something about him and he certainly is giving this his best shot. |

Not sure if I'd go for hot as the word to describe him but he's definitely put a smile on my face. Hope he stays in for a few weeks.

I can't see Ed as Hot!!
But I can see him as somebody who is taking his strictly experience very seriously, he obviously respects Katya (and the whole team) incredibly, he has knocked the beer on the head and is listening attentively to every comment and guidance he is given, and then acting upon it. He should be extremely proud of himself. His wife looked like she could burst with pride, he get a fabulous standing ovation, up and downstairs. This is exactly what I love to see on Strictly. Well done Ed. I was beaming throughout his dance!! |

I didn't expect to be cheering for Ed but I am, I love how much effort he is putting into this and not just being the joke contestant.

Hot would be a word i would use , BUT for a person to come from his political world were he knew he was on a hiding to nothing , with a vast majority against him and them not even prepared to give him a chance because of it -
He for me is doing very well - and Craig dismissing him they way he did and marking him with a 3 , when actually he wasn't the worst , means he got my votes tonight and long may it continue |

I am not sure if I would call him hot but I do like a fighter and someone who has a go at what they are supposed to. He is throwing himself into the Strictly experience and that is appealing.
He was a political bruiser and I like that his ability to annoy is cross party - he was disliked by the hard left and also had the ability to make David Cameron uncomfortable at PM Questions. I do not get the feeling that Craig likes him. |

I really enjoy seeing a 'celeb' from a non performance background progressing as the weeks go on. Ed is doing unbelievably well IMO - he has thrown off his inhibitions and his footwork isn't too bad either. i'd certainly like to see him go on for a good few weeks yet.
Actually - I know I'm in a bit of a minority but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Ed - I was gutted when he lost his seat. |

Not sure about hot. Yes he does has nice eyes.
He's interesting. Plays piano, likes making and icing cakes, enjoys musicals. Has battled against a stammer. So there's another side to the political bruiser. I like interesting...... |
