Craig set up to get the votes in for Ed. Not that he needed it as I think he'd have got them anyway. They need Ed for a few weeks as they are short at the fun end of the spectrum. They need to lose bland forgettable ones.

If the standing ovation is any real indication of popularity I think Ed will not be in the DDO.
The audience obviously loved it, the loudest longest reaction of the night.

Ps I voted for him three times

It is about his dancing ...though not great he tries very hard and unlike some have never danced before.

I voted for Ed, Claudia and Judge Rinder as they were the three performances that I enjoyed the most. There may be 'better' dancers, but at this stage, I am voting for effort and improvement and Ed most definitely came out on top for me!

I've never been keen on him as a politician but am enjoying him so far on Strictly. He came on leaps and bounds last night. I applauded him. It's always good when a celebrity actually listens to advice and works on their faults. I hope he makes it to Blackpool at least.

He's interesting. Plays piano, likes making and icing cakes, enjoys musicals. Has battled against a stammer. So there's another side to the political bruiser.

I love interesting you can keep your dull pretty boys. Nothing sexier than a man with a sharp mind. And again...those eyes

Looks like he has appeal across the age and sex spectrum:

Exactly . Some of us prefer substance over fluffy pretty boys .
Yep , a roast dinner over a soufflé any day .

I think you mean psychopathically handsome. Psychotics are the kind of people that sleep under bridges, sit next to you on the bus trying to engage you in conversation about the multicoloured horse sitting opposite and smell funny

Someone should've gone to SpecSavers.

(But I loved that Charleston. LOVED IT.)

What name??

Maybe there is a parallel universe where Ed Balls is hot.

I think Strictly is made by contestants like him though. He's trying his best.

I like him, seems very normal and sweet. I loved how he threw himself into Saturday's dance. On both dances he's actually done well. He's not the worst dancer, despite what the judges say. Craig, seriously? a 3 ? That's political bias.

Actually psychosis is a feature of many mental illnesses, involving detachment from what others perceive as reality. Don't let ignorance blind you.

On the other hand, psychopathy is a personality disorder characterised by lack of empathy and moral sense.

He's not my type but...

...as Len says, Strictly is all about people like Ed - no previous experience, prepared to get stuck right in and LEARN and, hopefully, come away from the experience with something other than just making a complete idiot of yourself.

During the show, I was sat at work in a very quiet reception area and could be seen by the public as the building has a complete glass front. At the end of Ed & Katya's routine, which I had beamed my way through, I was literally applauding frantically in front of a laptop - God knows what I must have looked like to the passing public outside!!!

But I didn't care - because Ed deserved every bit of that applause for his brilliant application to this routine and his resolute refusal to be the resident duffer.. He is throwing himself into it like a gud'un and, had I not missed the vote (), would have happily thrown a couple of votes his way. Keep up the good work Ed!

PS: I know she's the professional but I have to say, Katya shone in that routine and she is really growing on me.
