She was holding her lower abdomen as she ran up the stairs
I posted this in another thread, I've copied it and I'm pasting it here (this is what I think it may be).

Another point is, I don't think it was a very wise decision to cast a 48 year old who's beat cancer twice and has a multitude of chronic conditions including Chron's disease. One of my best friends has Chron's and it's a very debilitating condition, she's already had three operations to remove parts of her bowels and I lost count of how many long hospital stays she's had. Also, it can be triggered at any time, especially at stressful and physically challenging times. The training routine for Strictly is very intense if you want to dedicate yourself and take it seriously, I can't imagine a biggest trigger for Chron's than this. I'm not being prejudiced, but based on what I've seen from my friend over 20 years or so, I wouldn't say it was a clever decision. But those are the producers who cast Anthony Ogogo with one functioning arm only, so I'm not surprised.

I am really quite appalled at some of the posters on DS with regards to this,

I was happy to know it was an injury.....where it matters not to me, how she did it it matters not to me, I am sure that she and Brendan have discussed the issue with those who need to know. If it is something that won't recover quickly then I also think that may have been discussed with producers etc and probably she wouldn't have taken to the floor last night.

These are people who put themselves out there to entertain us and that is it, We don't own them and we most certainly don't have ANY right whatsover to know about their medical issues unless they chose to tell people.

I hope Anastacia makes a good and early recovery, I would never vote for her but I admire her resilience enormously, and I hope that she gets through when the results are out and can give a performance that she can be proud of next week.
'appalled?' A sense of proportion would be good here.

Oh dear . I wasn't aware of her medical conditions , just that she'd "had past issues" .
Well it's great to be brave and stand up (or dance) for fellow sufferers , but there needs to be a limit . I am guessing that Anastacia has reached hers .
At this point I must say I will feel uncomfortable watching her . I tend not to be too sympathetic to dodgy dancing (who knew) , and this whole thing makes me feel I can't be dance judgemental regarding her performances for fear of coming across as cruel .
I hope she recovers quickly , but it has to be said that this really is a game changer .

ETA . I felt similarly toward Antony over his arm issue . It's the Elephant in the room thing . Obviously holding someone back but deemed 'not nice' to comment on how it detracts from the dance ability .

She just mentioned that it was something to do with her Mastectomy.

Now we now - she tore her mastectomy scar tissue. Very nasty for her and will take time to heal.

She said she pulled the inner scar tissue from her mastectomy while pointing to her shoulder area. My guess is she may have to pull out if she doesn't get better

Well that should put Penelopes mind at rest.

I agree entirely. How can you judge someone in this position in a competition without being nasty or being overly kind, which isn't fair to the others? Unless she makes a really fast improvement I kind of hope she drops out - I don't want to watch a show feeling sorry for someone and worrying that they will injure themselves more.

The whole thing makes me feel very sad, to be honest. Its such a shame as Anastacia could have been a fantastic contestant - her personality certainly is a delight!

OK. That might prove problematical in that Brendan may need to be super careful handling her in future dances .
Might be time for her to bow out gracefully , there's no shame in listening to your body and being sensible .

Surely she won't continue. Potentially three months of wear and tear would be a nightmare for her.

Totally. The mental side of it would be almost as bad as the physical for her.

Totally agree . Brave as she has been there will be that inner terror that she might cause more damage . That will hold her back and quite frankly will terrify Brendan as well .
I'm not being cruel or nasty , but her dances have not been overly "getting chucked around" and yet she has this awful injury . Time to throw in the towel .

So sorry for Anastasia, she needs to think carefully about continuing, perhaps she could come back next year. I would respec any decision she would make.
Just to note, had the nature of her injury been clarified on Saturdays show, the public may have upped her public vote.

Bib , no I think not Posy , clearly the rough and tumble aspect of competition dancing is too dangerous for her . Best drop it entirely . She gave it a go, but her health is more important .

Im nearly crying here, I didn't know the injury, but if its that she will be devastated, she signed up to SCD to prove you can do things, and its still holding her back, its like she cant escape, I hope she doesn't pull out, emotionally she wanted to do this to feel feminine again... and was already self conscious about the scarring she had

Ok. Well what do you want her to do exactly ?
Continue intense training and rough handling and do more damage ?

She gave it her best shot and now she needs to back off and listen to her body saying "No thanks, this is causing more unnecessary damage" . There are other ways to showcase her admirable bravery , ways that won't aggravate her clearly still delicate wound tissue .
