BT Sales adverts are they OK?
Over the last few years the TV/Broadband/phones companies have all placed adverts over the press with sales/cuts in prices for new customers and these must be making a profit for them all to keep doing those types of deals all these years.
BT has really gone for the sale prices adverts and the prices are very much lower then most of us must be paying and each advert seems to drop one part of the quad communications company so one advert drops phone another drop broadband another drops TV etc. Now these prices must still make a profit as they just could not do that so often in the adverts and yes they must also work out that some if not all may keep with them in a years time or the lost from the higher price just would not work. I feel that BT and others are NOT play fair with us longer customers as we are getting a very bad deal as we keep the service and need phone to make them drop price or put up with the prices that seem to go up twice or more a year now. I got a feeing that these quad companies know that the way each part of the bill can be put up at different time of the year and they seem all take their turn in being the bad one out of the others, so they can all sit back like the power companies do and smile as they get rich bonuses each year. We know that all companies are now paying the lowest cost to any money lent ever and we know that fuel costs have dropped the lowest for years too. company Taxes have now been dropped twice in the last 6 years and wages have been kept low for years now and on top hardware & software cost have also dropped over the last ten years so real costs to these companies like BT should mean price drops or at least a 3 years freeze to all customers NOW. We all see that BT has spend very large amounts of cash in buying up Sports rights, Mobile Phone company EE and now they in a £60 Million bid for Youview rights & company yet prices still keep going up & up... This is not right and before someone add that I can move to another quad company or to the freeview or freesat systems I would point it out that both services seem to need broadband for iPlayers and other internet services, plus it seems that we must have phone line plus internet with the same company so I would still need to be with a company. I would also like to say that I am lucky in having both BT & Virgin so know that the companies are taking turns in prices increases over the last few years like the power companies have done for 20 years plus. ![]() I like to say that every few years the Quad companies seem to like to change the names of packages in different parts of services too . |

I've been with BT for 2 years now on a quad pack and i received my 1st "price rise" a couple of months ago.. By reading the actual email that they sent me, rather than just jumping onto a public forum for a moan, i realised that i could accept a new contract and reduce my bill.. So there price rise was actually a reduction and i got a free Hub6 and a new mobile phone... Personally i did quite well out of the price rise and i didn't even speak to anybody..
