This is exactly it. There's no upside to being a singer/songwriter type unless you actually write songs.

The most recent winner of America's Got Talent sang 4 (yes, 4) original songs during her run on the show.

Will Simon let Emily sing her own material? Does she have her own material?

I would imagine that she does have some of her own material, but I guess she wont be allowed to use it.

I'm sure Louis will have been told to give her the one trick pony feedback from around week four.”

No not those song choices lol.

I don't dislike her. But I don't particularly like her.

I'm over the 'slow down uptempo song acts' have been for a couple of years now.

Oh, me too, but she hasn't been turning happy up-tempo songs into dreary ballads, just giving songs a different treatment from the original. And maybe she won't always do that.

her chances will come down to whether she is allowed to do something other than the acoustic style we have seen so far

i was hopping around on youtube earlier and saw the video of her doing "anything can happen" at the SCC 2 years ago, her vocals were rough but she showed alot of confidence and energy, if she can pull off that sort of performance again, but with better vocals in the lives then she has a real chance

i dont think she is the one trick pony that people have labelled her as

The sad thing is I bet that all of these top 12 can do more than what this show will let them do.

This show wants us to see them all as one trick ponies, with the exception of the winner where they'll get one song that's different to their usual style.
