Danny better than Jay
I think Danny is better than Jay. No surprise Jay won last year. Was expecting him to do all along. Should have in the final. Shouldn't have never had a perfect score. Jay was good but I think Danny has the edge on him. Jay didn't really act enough in his dances. People think Jay was the best dancer ever but I think there's been better. Some of you may agree or disagree

Way too early he's only done two dances. But then Jay is not the best ever male either his ballroom was not really good enough compared to Tom Chambers, Ricky Whittle and Harry Judd.

Hard to tell at this stage. At this moment he has the showmanship but Jay had the grace

He's made a more confident start than Jay. Jay was a softer dancer but also proved he could go full out with his jive. Both Danny's dances have been almost too full on and choreography packed. It will be interesting to see if he can do slow and romantic as well.

I already like Danny more than I ever liked Jay. I never warmed to Jay at all.

I think he is a better dancer than Jay, better looking too but I don't judge my favourite on looks.

He's a very good dancer. I'm still find him a bit insincere off the floor. But then I never cared much for the ever so unassuming Jay - his polar opposite.

Excuse me. Only stating my opinion
I said it because his fans are very..."enthusiastic", let's put it this way. |

Don't care for Danny,Jay just grabbed me instantly with that waltz the feeling I had on that night is unforgettable don't think anyone can capture me like Jay did with Aliona.

I didn't say that because of me; quite the opposite, I've never been a fan of his.

Me neither. Jay always left me cold. I didn't, and still don't understand his popularity. But then, it's a good job we don't all like the same things, or all have the same opinions I suppose. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

They are both good dancers right from the beginning, but I think polar opposites.
With Danny we have had 2 full on dances will be interesting to see if he can step down a gear for the more romantic dances. Jay had a laid back graceful style, but never went up a gear, had a lazy feel to all his dances. So both good, just different. |

Too early to say if he is a better dancer. I quite like Danny but Jay had something special. Not sure if Danny might start to grate after a while.

I loved Jay but I never thought he was the best dancer (or even best male) to appear on Strictly. His highs were (for me) higher than any other celeb but it was how he came across and his partnership with Aliona (whom I'd never particularly rated before but who shone with Jay) that made him special.
I think from the evidence so far that Danny is probably, overall, going to be a better dancer than Jay. Whether he hits the heights of performance for me that make me feel the wow factor, as Jay (and others before him) did, is still, thus far, in the balance. He does have Oti though. That's a start. |

I do think he's a stronger dancer than Jay. Not only that but he performs much better too, which I guess could be expected from his experience on stage. |

as a few others have said. Danny may prove to be a better dancer with more showmanship but there was a grace to Jay's dancing that no male celeb has ever come close to in my view - and I value that above the other things.

I loved Jay last year and I'm glad he won but I can also say that Danny looks stronger at this stage than Jay did last year.
Shock horror. A Jay fan "admits" that Danny is good ![]() I actually think it's a very strong field this year and could be anybody's out of about 5 or 6. I was the least excited about Strictly coming back than I've been in years and find that I'm enjoying more than I have in a long time. I'm also loving the new pro girls not so sure yet about Gorka. |

As a Jay fan last year, and (so far) a Danny fan this year, I'd say impossible to call.
They're so very different. Jays strength pre SCD was contemporary, hence the more, low key, relaxed style. Danny's dance strengths seem much more commercial (imagine pop videos or X factor dancers). Like many I'm looking forward to watching him perform less intense routines. |

We'll see, but I suspect Danny is better, Jay never bettered a dance that he did in his third week.
I'm going to guess that Danny is going to improve and do some outstanding dances |
