HOLLYOAKS

A few months ago, I started a 'Hollyoaks' fan-fiction on WalfordWeb, taking it back to April 2014, as I thought that's where the show started going wrong. However, I've since realised that some of my ideas definitely could have been improved. I was tempted to start a new one from where we are now in 2016, but realised there's so much that I wouldn't have done (killer Cameron, for starters!) that I wouldn't be able to passionately write it – as well as the fact that the show has really started getting good again!

So, I'm starting (again!) from April 2014. I will be making changes to my original episodes, so you won't have to read ALL of the same stuff again, but there will be some stuff that I do carry over, as I am proud of a few stories/scenes.

Hollyoaks announce McQueen returns!

Producers of Channel 4 soap opera 'Hollyoaks' have announced the returns of three members of the McQueen family – and more are expected to come!

Mother Myra McQueen is the first to be announced. Myra departed last year after being 'killed off' when she was shot by son-in-law Paul Browning, but it was later confirmed that she was actually alive and well! Myra will make a dramatic return to the village in June after some dramatic events unfold, leading to her coming back to support her family. Producers have confirmed that she won't be alone – she'll be followed by youngest daughter Michaela McQueen!

The first of the family to appear, Michaela was always seen as the 'light relief' and the 'baby' of the family, but that's all about to change! Long-term viewers may be aware that Michaela did next to nothing in her last return in 2011 (until 2012), but this time the McQueen baby will return – with a McQueen baby! That's right, Michaela will return pregnant. Whilst Michaela will be aware of the paternity, her family will not, and she'll refuse to enclose the details. But viewers have been promised that Michaela is harbouring a secret, which is the reason for her return...!

The final ANNOUNCED return is that of Theresa McQueen, Myra's niece. Theresa has appeared since 2008, before departing in January of this year, but Theresa will permanently return to our screens in August 2014. Whilst it's not yet been enclosed how Theresa escapes from prison, it is sure to be dramatic!

Hollyoaks announce shock return for Tony's son!

That's right, Tony's son Harry Thompson is returning to our screens in the Summer! Viewers will know that Harry is Tony's son with ex Tessie Thompson, and made an appearance in last year's 'Hollyoaks Later'. Harry will return after being kicked out of college in Portugal for smoking cannabis on-site, and, when disowned by his mother, the troublesome young man will turn to his father!

Viewers can expect Harry and Tony to have a strained relationship, with Harry making it clear he's only here because Tony is his last chance!

Hollyoaks shock as producers confirm Liberty Savage return!

The Savage's are being built up again this Spring, as 'forgotten' Savage sister Liberty makes a shock return! Bosses have recast the role, and Liberty will explode back onto our screens sometime in May or April, and whilst details are scarce, we can expect to see more of Liberty this time!

As baby Katy's health decreases at the hospital, her family are worried sick. Diane and Tony are holding a bedside vigil for Katy, refusing to leave her side, whilst Katy's mother Sinead is being refused access into the hospital after being accused of harming Katy on purpose. Whilst Sinead off-loads her worries to husband Freddie, Freddie is plagued with guilt, harbouring the secret that not only is his 'missing' brother Joe dead, but he also slept with Joe's former fiancée Lindsey. As Sinead realises that Freddie isn't listening, she heads to 'The Loft', where she proceeds to get drunk. Whilst there, Sinead runs into best friend Ste Hay, whom has been taking drugs beforehand. As the pair begin dancing, Sinead realises that Ste is high, and orders him to go home. Ste refuses, but when Ste attempts to make a move on a guy in the club, Sinead orders him to leave. Ste heads out of the club, and spots Fraser's car outside. Muttering to himself, Ste stumbles over to the car, and opens the bonnet. As the scene flashes away, Sinead is necking shot after shot in 'The Loft'. Barman Trevor suggests she slow down, but Sinead insists that she can do what she wants. As Trevor requests she leaves, Sinead pounces on him and the pair share a passionate kiss. Trevor kisses her back initially, but soon pushes her away, ordering her to leave.

Ziggy heads around to Leela's flat with a bouquet of flowers. Leela opens the door, and turns them down, but Ziggy is adamant that she should have them. Sighing, Leela takes the flowers, and Ziggy asks if he can come in. Leela says that he can't as her parents are at home, but Ziggy says he knows that's a lie as the Danny and Sam were at the garage earlier, picking up their car as they were heading out for a romantic hotel break. Ziggy then says he knows that Peri's at school, and he saw Tegan heading into work, before asking if he can come in again. Leela reluctantly lets him in, and Ziggy smiles as he sits down and makes himself at home. Leela offers Ziggy a cup of tea, and he accepts. As the pair talk, Ziggy kisses Leela, and she responds – and soon, the pair are in bed together!

As Darren grows increasingly bored in his relationship to Nancy, he confides in best friend Dodger, who advises that he breaks up with her. Darren insists he can't, as it's not fair on Oscar or Charlie, but Dodger says that Darren needs to do what's best for him – the kids will still be able to see them both. Taking Dodger's advice, Darren heads to the pub, where Nancy is serving Patrick Blake. Watching as Nancy and Patrick laugh, Darren decides that Nancy will be able to move on quickly. He then asks Nancy if she can meet him upstairs, and when she does, Darren gets straight to the point – he doesn't feel that they're working. Nancy is heartbroken as Darren admits he wants them to call time on their relationship. As the pair discuss the ins-and-outs of their break-up, Darren insists that Nancy stays living in the pub with Jack, Frankie, Esther, Tom and the kids, and Darren will move back into the flat that he spent a majority of the end of last year living in.

Cindy is left feeling sick to the stomach when she receives a card from her deceased sister Dawn Cunningham. Cindy instantly blames it on Mercedes, and confronts her, but she shows Cindy a card that she has received, from her dead sister Tina. As the two girls proceed to question other friend Lindsey, she says that she's got a card, but with no name. As the trio brainstorm who it could be, Cindy comes up with a chilling suggestion - Dr. Browning isn't actually dead! Mercedes and Lindsey instantly shoot her idea down – but could Cindy be correct?

Also, Esther creates an internet dating profile at the suggestion of George, and she is unsure of what to do when she instantly matches with a girl in the area called Tina. Sandy and Fraser arrange to go away on a romantic break in Devon, however Fraser's daughter Grace is against the idea – and accuses Fraser of not loving Sandy! And, Peri and Tom ditch school, and spend the afternoon in the folly, where the pair talk about their life, and Peri reveals that Tom is her first boyfriend – and Tom reveals that Peri is his first girlfriend.

I know, it's absolutely ridiculous how many I've started and dropped, but I've actually got some ideas I'm proud of, and the episodes I had pre-written were shit, so I wanted to take them back and redo them. I'm determined to stick to this one, even if something happens and the thread goes a few weeks without an update, I'll still carry on.

I'm also going to not have a posting schedule, so I'm not rushing to write episodes.

Hollyoaks has unveiled its two newest families!

Hollyoaks is set to introduce two new families in the coming months, the Foster family and the Ghandra family.

The Foster's are billed as a "normally structured" family, and consists of two parents, their three sons and two daughters. Nick Foster is leading the family, and will buy half of 'The Hutch' – so it looks like Ste will soon be selling up! "A good man with a kind heart", Nick and Tony will decide on a relaunch for the struggling restaurant, renaming it to 'The Bell Tower View'.

Nick will be joined by his wife Siobhan, whom has a surprise connection to the village – she's Diane's sister! Older and more sensible than Diane, Siobhan is a sophisticated woman, and is a lawyer. She tends to look down her nose on Diane, and tried to get as far away from Diane and their other sister Lynette as she could!

Nick and Siobhan have five children – mechanic Ben, fitness instructor Lee, barman Owen, barmaid Maddie and student Carla. The family are set to cause trouble in the village, however it has been confirmed that they won't be harbouring a big secret – they're a normal family!

Another new family will be joining. A mix-raced family, the Ghandra's & Stapleton's will improve the show's diversity, whilst also creating several opportunities for some big and dramatic storylines.

Headed by elderly couple Aadya and Jalsa, both of Pakistani heritage, the two characters will be the first to appear, taking over the village's florist. Aadya and Jalsa are a normal, loving couple, and are highly traditional. Nearing retirement, they are both planning to live out their final years with a nice, peaceful family business.

Their son Taru is a successful lawyer, and is a well-mannered and loyal man. He is married to Headmistress Rosie Ghandra, an English Catholic. Whilst Rosie's religion caused problems for Aadya and Jalsa, they have come round to it, as Taru and Rosie work hard to mix the religions.

Taru and Rosie have four children; sons Kush and Luke, and daughters Natalie and India. Whilst Kush, Luke and Natalie do not follow any set religion, India is a devote Muslim, much like her grandparents. This causes problems for Taru and Rosie, who have always been keen on their children harbouring a mix of the different religions.

Kush is the eldest, hotheaded ladies' man, whom dabbles in sex and drugs. He believes religion is a load of rubbish, and has always refused to follow it – although he's always been more than happy to celebrate Christmas!

Luke is the complete opposite – much like his father, he is a man who believes in morals, and wants to settle down with a family. Luke has a heart of gold, and will work for what he wants.

Student Nurse Natalie has always enjoyed helping people, hence her career choice. Intelligent and devoted to passing her exams, Natalie has often neglected her personal life in favour of her studies, which to her family seems like a good thing, but it means she struggles not only to make friends, but to form other relationships.

India is quiet and shy, and believes that everything happens for a reason. She is devoted to Islam, and hates her maternal grandmother for her opinions. India is studying English Literature at college, but has been neglecting her studies, as she's been spending a lot of time at her local Mosque, getting to know her faith.

Marie Stapleton is Rosie's Catholic mother. Against her daughter's life decisions, Marie strongly dislikes her daughter's decision to marry into a Muslim family. Marie is a battleaxe, and always has something to moan about. Always picking faults, she often gets on the nerves of her loved ones, but the truth is that she's been lonely since the death of her husband in a plane crash four years before.

It has been confirmed that several high-profile – and even slightly controversial! – storylines have been planned for the family, whom will make their first appearances in the coming months.

There are huge changes ahead for the show...!

Producers of HOLLYOAKS have revealed that there are some huge changes ahead for the show – and it's not cast-wise!

Producers have announced that the show, which airs at 6.30pm every weekday evening, has had its time-slot changed. Speaking about the change, an insider said "Producers at Hollyoaks have decided to push the show's time-slot back a bit. The show will now air at 9pm every night, which will allow us to do a few things. Firstly, we can chase viewers whom can't catch the show at 6.30, which is quite early. Ratings have been decreasing, as – due to catch-up services – people are not making as much as an effort to make sure they're there for 6.30! As well of this, we can promote steamier relationships and darker storylines, which is something the producers feel the show needs in order to evolve!"

In other news, producers have revealed that they're working in a sixth episode.

"We've looked at the schedule and we've decided to work in a sixth episode every week. The cast is increasing, and as it gets bigger, more screen-time is needed. We think we can manage six episodes, and it'll allow for us to develop stories better, giving them the chance to breathe, whilst also sharing the lime-light between our great cast!"

Tuesday April 1, 2014 (21.00 – 21.30)

Concern grows for Katy as her health decreases, and Tony is adamant that they need to call Sinead – but Diane refuses. Finn's doubts on whether his sister could've harmed her daughter grow, and Finn pleads with Diane to just let Sinead see her, but she's adamant it won't happen. However, Finn calls his sister, whom wakes up in bed next to a random man. Sinead forces the man to leave her room at the boarding house, and attempts to contact Freddie, who hasn't returned home. Sinead rushes out to Freddie's car and climbs in, but is interrupted when Ste comes out and gets in with her. As the pair pull off, they are unaware that in the village, Sandy and Fraser are heading off on their romantic break. As Ste grows erratic, he lashes out at Sinead, who serves the car just as they head into the village, causing her to plough through the Hollyoaks sign, and straight towards Fraser's car. Fraser tries to brake, but the brakes aren't working, and he swerves, ploughing through the florists and ending up crashing into the fountain. As smoke billows out of the engine, Sandy is unconscious, whilst Fraser's head is against the steering wheel, pouring with blood. Freddie's car is on its side outside of 'The Hutch', with Ste and Sinead both unconscious inside. Sinead's phone begins to ring as Freddie attempts to contact her, but Sinead doesn't wake up.

Grace heads out of 'The Loft' to see what the noise was, whilst Cindy and Holly emerge from 'Price Slice'. Ziggy and Leela come out of Leela's flat, and rush downstairs, whilst Dodger – who is passing by – also rushes towards the cars. As Ziggy and Leela run over to Fraser and Sandy's car, followed swiftly by Grace, Dodger runs over to Freddie's car. Knocking on the passenger window as Ste stirs, Dodger calls his name. Ste looks around, confused, before muttering 'no no no' as he realises what has happened. He shakes Sinead, whom is lifeless and unresponsive. Screaming Sinead's name, Ste begins to sob. Dodger orders Ste to try the door, but Ste is too busy shaking his head. A man rushes over to Dodger, holding a crowbar. As he prises the car door open, Dodger and the man pull Ste out. The man introduces himself to Dodger as Cameron Campbell, and as Cameron carries Ste out onto the street, Tegan rushes over as she is not on-duty at the hospital. She begins to tend to Ste and check him over, whilst Dodger and Cameron manage to tip Sinead's car.

Ziggy notices brake-fluid leaking from Fraser's car, and points it out to Leela, whom is concerned by the smoke billowing out of the engine. As Ziggy heads round to the engine to check on it, he opens the bonnet (which he struggles to do as it is jammed). He notices that the smoke is really bad, and is forced to jump away as the engine ignites. Sandy awakens, and panics, screaming Ziggy's name. Leela and Ziggy head around to the passenger side and open the door, before managing to free Sandy. As Grace, Ziggy and Leela attempt to free Fraser, he wakes up, and manages to open the door, but the seatbelt is jammed. Grace screams at him to hurry, and Trevor – who has also just exited 'The Loft' – guides Grace away. Leela and Ziggy struggle to undo the seatbelt, and as the fire grows, Fraser pushes them both away from him. Leela screams at Ziggy to run. Grace screams for her father, who manages to undo the seatbelt and jump out of the car. As he rushes away, he is blown forehead by an explosion, which causes the fountain to also explode, sending rubble and bricks flying at all the on-lookers, who cover themselves.

Dodger and Cameron's attentions are grabbed by the explosion, and as they turn to face it, Sinead awakens and begins to scream. Whispering 'Katy' over and over, Cameron attempts to open Sinead's door, but it is jammed. Dodger climbs into the passenger seat next to Sinead, and comforts her. As Sinead cries about her daughter, Dodger tries her seatbelt, but is no good. Dodger continues to comfort Sinead as Leela rushes over to them, followed by Trevor, who has some wire cutters. Trevor suggests that Dodger tries it, and he manages to cut the seatbelt enough to free Sinead from it. Grabbing her under her arms, Dodger pulls Sinead over the passenger seat and out onto the road, just as the police, fire service and ambulances arrive. As Ste, Fraser, Sinead and Sandy are taken to hospital, Dodger has a cut on his hand from where he touched some of the smashed glass from the windscreen. Dodger says that he will accompany Sinead to the hospital, whilst Leela goes with Ste, Ziggy goes with Sandy and Grace goes with Fraser – but not before nastily telling Trevor to leave her alone.

Arriving at the hospital, Lindsey encourages Sinead to get checked out, but she's intent on going to Katy. However, when Sinead collapses, Lindsey orders her to get checked out. Freddie hears about Sinead's accident, and rushes into her hospital room, where she is unconscious. As Freddie holds Sinead, Finn enters, crying. As Finn takes Freddie outside, Freddie begins to sob as Finn inaudibly tells him something, unaware that Sinead has just woke up, and is lying in bed, watching them outside. Freddie heads back in, wiping his wet eyes, and holds Sinead in his arms as he tells Sinead the devastating truth – Katy died five minutes ago.

Sinead screams, sobbing in Freddie's arms as Tony, Diane and Finn stand outside, looking in through the window and watching Sinead cry. Finn turns to Diane, shaking his head, and mutters "I hope you're happy now" before leaving, as Tony follows after him, causing Diane to begin sobbing as she watches Sinead...

RIP Katy O'Connor (May 22 2013 - April 1 2014)
This episode marks the first appearance of Cameron Campbell.

It is a hard day for the O'Connor's as they struggle with Katy's tragic death. With Diane pushing Tony away, Tony feels backed against a wall, and confides in friend Darren about it. Darren is still down about his recent break-up from Nancy, so isn't listening too intently. Whilst Finn is keen to repair the rift between his family, Sinead is not responding to anybody, and has gone into a static state, with only the smallest of movements. Freddie is sat by her bedside, worrying, whilst the nurses are attempting to make her respond. Ste enters Sinead's room (she has been isolated due to her state), and attempts to talk to her. Sinead reacts – but not in the way the nurses want, as Sinead lashes out at Ste, blaming him for making her miss her daughter's final moments. However, Sinead then breaks down in Ste's arms as he tearfully apologises, saying that he knows he's messed up, and he'd do anything to fix it. "Bring her back" Sinead sobs, and Ste comforts her as the two best friends cry together...

Noticing that Darren's mood is extremely low, Dodger plans a night out to raise their spirits. Organising a crawl – starting with 'The Dog', heading into town and then ending with 'The Loft', – Dodger invites Darren, Dennis, Cameron and Ziggy along. Ziggy and Cameron become friends, whilst Dennis is extremely reserved. As the drunk group stagger into 'The Loft', Darren sets his sights on Mercedes, who is at the bar flirting with Trevor. As Darren approaches, Trevor moves away from Mercedes, who begins to turn down Darren's advances. Disheartened, Darren heads back over to the group. Whilst Dennis is awkwardly staring at Blessing, Ziggy has his sights firmly set on Leela – unaware that Cameron is checking her out as well! Both Darren and Dodger find themselves attracted to a girl who is partying with her friend. As Darren introduces himself to the girls, the one who he has an attraction to introduces herself as Ellie O'Neill, before introducing her friend, Lucy Barker. Darren and Ellie spend the night flirting, and at the end of the night, they share a passionate kiss, but Ellie then proclaims that she needs the toilet, and rushes in. Darren spends half an hour waiting, before deciding to see what is wrong. He knocks on the toilet door, but there is no answer, so he decides that she must have slipped out. Heading into the boys bathroom, Darren is confused to hear moans coming from a cubicle – and he is even more shocked when the cubicle door flies open, and he finds Dodger and Ellie having sex!

Dennis finally plucks up the courage to speak to Blessing, and the pair share an awkward conversation, but it's clear that there's at least a friendship between the pair. However, as the conversation escalates, Dennis puts his foot in it – by leaning in and kissing Blessing! Blessing reacts badly, slapping Dennis before storming out of the club, leaving Dennis heartbroken.

Jack and Frankie attempt to support Nancy, who is determined that her break-up with Darren won't affect her. As the trio pack the remainder of Darren's stuff into boxes, Jack says he'll take it round to Darren's flat later on, but Frankie insists he doesn't, as too much heavy-lifting is bad for his heart. Frankie manages to collar Darren's half-brother Robbie Roscoe, who is truanting from school. Frankie asks him to make himself useful, before convincing him to help take the boxes. As Robbie carries the boxes into Darren's flat, he seems to like the idea of having his own space. Heading home, Robbie tells mother Sandy – whom is off-work, resting following her recent car crash – that he wants to move out, but Sandy remarks that it's a stupid idea, as he's too young. Robbie talks a reluctant Sandy into letting him at least ask Darren if he can move into the flat with him, however it's clear that Sandy doesn't want to lose any of her boys...

Grace helps Fraser home following the crash. After seeing Leela in the village, Grace lays into her, stating that her family could have killed Fraser. Leela fights back, and it leads to a full-on cat fight in the middle of the village, which Cindy is keen to observe from the doors of Price Slice. Patrick breaks the pair up, ordering Leela to leave Grace alone. As Grace begins to sob, Patrick offers to take her upstairs. Taking her into his flat, Patrick makes Grace a cup of tea, and as Grace confides in him about the crash, how badly she's treated Trevor and how losing Clare and almost losing Fraser has made her realise that she doesn't love him, Patrick listens intently. As Patrick advises Grace does what makes her happy, she leans in for a kiss – and soon the pair are ripping each others' clothes off on the sofa!

Also tonight, Esther has her first date with Tina, but it goes disastrously when Tina is revealed to be a 40 year-old woman, not like she said in her profile picture! George and Vincent share a secret kiss, which Phoebe witnesses. As Phoebe grows angry, she trashes the garage, only to be stopped by Jason, who questions what has happened. As Phoebe cries, she hugs Jason, something which Holly witnesses from afar...! And, in the final scene, Fraser limps out of the hospital, before making a phone call – "Hello? It's Fraser Black. I just wanted to check on my step-son, he's a comatose patient on one of your wards. Yes, Roscoe. Joseph Roscoe."

This episode marks the first appearances of Ellie O'Neill and Lucy Barker.
