cos anastasia injured herself??
ThugAngel

but Anastasia said she would do it again

They said she couldn't dance so the lowest votes determined who went out.

Didn't agree with that tbh

So Anastasia did say shed dance again and they said no?
Hitstastic

Has that ever happened in the past?

She wanted to but it was probably too serious.

Anastacia should take a bye pass this week and rest up.

Watch it again on iPlayer and listen to what Claudia said.

The guy didn't get a chance to knock her out. This sets a bad precedence, fake injury and hope you got higher viewers votes than the other one equals no dance off. She'll be bottom two every week now

This doesn't seem right!... if you can't dance then you should forfeit your place in the show!.... and the other couple should have gone through!...

She said she would if necessary but that she didn't want to hurt herself any more than she had already. Then someone made the decision that she wouldn't dance and the lowest vote contestant would go home.

IMO that's crap. If she was so badly injured why did she dance in the first place? They said before she went on the dance floor she had injured herself and yet Brendan was still throwing her around on the floor. In most dance shows, including this one, contestants who injure themselves that badly bow out gracefully rather than taking down someone who could go on to win.

I don't think its a fake injury. It is clearly a real problem for her and she would be wise to put her health first. Maybe give it another shot in a couple of years.

See my thread 'Sorry, Anastacia' where the moral majority are going to town!

So wrong! She didn't fake an injury! She reopened scar tissues and muscles from her previous mastectomy operation

It will all be in the rules. They need to cover for couples getting an injury during the main show and not being able to perform in the dance off. A lot of viewers probably won't like it but we have to assume that the BBC have acted properly.

It wouldn't take much nowadays for the doctors and lawyers to decide that an injured celeb shouldn't perform a dance again after aggravating an wound.

She was obviously told she couldn't dance on medical advice. Even though he's no great loss, it is a really shit way for Melvin to go out and I can't help but feel it's unfair on him.

I don't know what else they could have done though? I have a feeling she will pull out before next week.

I didn't say she faked it, I said future oppotunists might find a way of avoiding a dance off by breaking a nail with a good chance that they're a bit more popular than the other dancer getting them through on votes. I think she is injured and should have left the show if she couldn't let her opponent have a fair shot at staying

I've just said this on another thread, but Anastacia should have done the decent thing and retired from the Competition. Very unfair on Melvin. For all we know he could have smashed that dance off. Unlikely maybe but now we'll never know.

From the way it was shown it looks like it was a straightforward decision but someone I know who was there last night told me that it took ages to decide what to do, that Anastacia said on camera that she'd dance but behind the scenes said she couldn't. Or something along those lines.

That's all she said as she didn't want to spoil it for me (like I cared!) but from what I saw tonight all the stuff she saw was cut from the show.

I think the correct decision was made, but you'd think after all this time they'd have the possibility of an incident like this occuring in the Strictly rulebook. As we found out in series 6, they seem really adept at making stuff up on the spot; shocking for such a big show.

This is true. The spoiler was very late last night, gone 11pm I think when it's usually aeiund 10.30ish.

Why doesn't she drop out if she's hurt too much and let Melvin come back?

I did and tagged in there too I appreciate those fighting the good fight for her, and she is a hero to go on with her life so well after such a bad injury effects her. But my point wasn't about that, it was about how she could easily injure herself again and then what? She leaves the show and Melvin has been kicked out for no reason, how many others might go that way? She should of just taken the bullet and pulled out gracefully and everyone would have applauded her. At the end of the day it must be her decision to go or stay.
