Yes, this is a good point.

So she should take herself away from the danger of rupturing her scars .

How can anyone sit and watch a woman who has allegedly been in tears over potential injury to surgical scars being tossed around in an American Smooth or thrown back and forth in an energetic tango . Even a waltz, with arms raised constantly in an unnatural hold must surely be less than safe .

Personally that is not my idea of entertainment .

As per backstageone post in another thread, a very reliable source. Anastacia told the producers that she would not participate in the dance off or else she would leave. That's right , take it or leave it.

Yesterday when I said that this situation smelled like rotten eggs, a fellow member said my comment was rediculous, I don't think so.

And you blame her if her scar was in danger of tearing again? Seriousy? She would have been mad to have danced again.

Nobody is arguing that.

I've been fighting this one right from when it happened but people don't want to tell it like it is. It is the star system at work and it has left a nasty taste.

Precisely, Heatherbell.

It is NOT entertainment which is why it shouldn't have happened on air.

Hope she retires from the show for the sake of her health.
I wonder what assurances and checks the producers demand before hiring someone with possible health issues.

Or maybe she should not have danced at all, her doctor advised against it.

My tuppenceworth is that they should have eliminated her rather than Melvin.

She didn't ask for a bye this week when she was injured, and has now been put through to next week at Melvin's expense......

What if the injury precludes her from dancing next week? another more popular celeb will go because she isn't there to face the public vote - and that's not fair to them.

I wasn't a fan of Melvin - but I'd certainly say that tonight "MELVIN WAS ROBBED!"

We always thought these checks were made, since the "scare" with Jimmy Tarbuck.

But that was ten years and probably a few producers ago. She's a "big name" something the show struggles to acquire, so maybe they just took a chance having her as one of the contestants.

Either way both she and the BBC were a bit irresponsible. Or at least one of 'em.

It does seem strange, when you put it like that. Two couples were in the dance-off. One said they couldn't dance and so they are declared the winner? How does that work?

Both Melvin and Anastacia should gone through to next week .

Eliminating Melvin like this makes a mockery of the DO .

Erm, no, they were declared the winner because they beat the other couple in the public vote, which is ultimately the fairest result of them all. Democracy and all that.

Remember the outcry when they introduced the dance-off in the first place? Funny how things can change to fit one's agenda, isn't it?

I can honestly see how this got to where we are now I.e Anastasia thinking she could do it then realising she couldn't /being advised against, but still wanting to continue in the show etc. And Claud said that they were invoking the rules in this scenario.
However I think now they need to take stock and have a proper considered conversation about whether Anastasia can realistically go on or not to prevent further difficulties.

It's hard to see how she will ever be fit enough to compete properly and if she is in the B2 again (which she will be if she stays) will the other couple just automatically be eliminated to make way for a diva all the way to the final?

Its been a long time since they had someone of Anastacia's fame on the show, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut some corners to grab that fame for the show. It probably came down to them asking her if she was up to it, her saying yes, and them going 'well, that's good enough for us, here's your pay cheque'.

It doesn't .
It defies logic and leaves a very nasty taste to be truthful .

She might just get the sympathy vote next week and won't be in the bottom two. I don't think she thought she would be in the dance-off this week given that she was 4th or 5th from bottom in the leader board.

Somebody posted the 'rules' elsewhere on the forum and they are so vague as to be useless. Basically they can make them up as they go along.

Strange that the only other time the public vote has the final say over the judges scoring is in the actual final.

Diva? She tore her scar tissue. Behave.

Such a shame this has happened for her - it'll completely destroy her experience and to be truthful this will be a problem with all the training and vigour she'll have to go through In forthcoming weeks

If you think that she will get the sympathy vote, then you have missed the reactions on social media completely.

But those that like her and voted already will probably vote for her again and there are bound to be some sympathy votes regardless of what some on social media may think.

On the other hand she may just dance beautifully next week.

I would vouch there are many thousands of people who don't post comments on social media and who would have some sympathy for the situation in which she finds herself and would vote accordingly,
